Scaremongering. That issue seems much rarer or even no-existent on the G5. People should always do their own research.

hehe well the article does mention that both v10 and g4 had the same chipset (SD 808)so if they used the same in this then they cant really call it a g5 .. :P hopefully they used better soldering for the SD 820 hehehehe

        • My current Lumia 950 has the SD808 - never had such issues. AFAIK, only the first few production months of the V10 and G4 were affected, but I can't speak from experience.

@IIMurphaII: no the chipset is fine no issue's .. its how LG put the chips on their boards or a combination of that chipset and other components on the G4 and V10 that causes the issue

        • @scud70: Are the Korean brands struggling at the moment? LG G4/V10 bootloop issues, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery issues… What's next? S'pose all brands have a slip up once in a while.

        • @IIMurphaII: cutting costs to focus on brand marketing

    • lol

I paid less than this when I got it for my wife - last year.

    • Where'd you find it? I've been looking at this phone for a while and have not seen this variant any cheaper than $500 in recent months. Are you sure it wasn't a cheaper H820, H840 or F700 version? While this one is still a grey import, at least you can deal with an Australian seller.

      • I got it in November, grey market, but definitely the H860. I used an ebay $50 voucher code and bought from DWI. It came to $450 including shipping.

    • Also, FTR: my wife had the G3 before this for two years, and has never had any problems with either (well, the G3 died, but I think it was just from two years of wear and tear).

Lucky! I've had to send my wife's G3 back twice!

        • Maybe your wives are the problem?

      • My G3 is still going strong for several years now. Best phone I've ever had. Have use it naked the whole time too. Would buy one again if they were still around and if this one ever dies.

        • Have use it naked the whole time too.

Why are you always naked when you use it?

Good price but I wouldn't go near one. Just don't trust LG after my previous G4 and I am extremely happy with my Xiaomi Redmi 4 prime.

Read all those comments but decided to buy from the last 20% off sale instead. Works a treat and no issues whatsoever other than GPS when the phone cover is on

    • I really want one now you said so

  • Ignoring the bootloop concerns. This phone still has a few problems.

    -GPS
    -screen burn
    -headphone jack issues
    -poor build quality issues

    Pros are
-good specs with good band support including 28
-sttill one of the better main cameras on a phone
    -replaceable battery
    -Good DAC available as add-on
    -ir blaster

V20 is probably a better choice now?

    • Yeah.Just get the V20 for a bit more.

  • for a bit more $$ i'd go with the S7 deal posted here earlier.

    • yup .. vaya one is 527, kogan is 550 :) better options

    • It is a very good price on the S7.

    • True, each to their own, the s7 for me doesn't have the quad DAC, removeable battery or ir blaster. These are features some people would like and make the V20 more appealing to me. Just like conversely the V20 doesn't has water proofing or wireless charging, and these are features a lot of people would like obviously and more appealing to them. Now if only there was a phone that offered everything. :)

Ordered my H860 from Kogan April 2016. Bootlooped in August 2016. Sent back for a full refund. At roughly the same time, my wife's G3 started resetting and shutting down at 30% power. Now we are both using Axon 7's. We are now a LG-free household.

In fairness, Kogan were really good about accepting the return and processing the refund, but I'd rather not have to rely on that and buy a phone from another manufacturer.

  • The dual sim will be useless soon as its only 2g/4g???

    • Is that a question or statement?

If it's a question then all newer Snap Dragon chips (ie.SD820,SD650) comes with 3G/4G.

      • It was a poorly worded question. I have a Lg G5 dual sim and when I've got 2 sims in, i've only seen it on 2g/4g
I've had a quick google and on xda there is a thread that says that it can't do 3G/4G
        https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/help/lg-g5-h860n-t335…
It appears that it can only access 3G/4G on one sim at a time, leaving the 2nd sim as 2G

        • No man, double check your settings. G5 should have 3G/4G. The cheap Lenovo ZUK 2 and Le Max 2 works with 3G/4G. Both Sim works with 4G when data is enabled. So 3G/4G or 4G/3G .. The G5 used the same chip.

        • @HandsomeMonkey: I have a tpg sim in 1 slot and an amaysim in the other. I've checked all settings. Seems to be the consensus on XDA forums.

Have you managed to enable 3g on 1 sim and 4g on the 2nd sim?

  • I love my G3. Never fail on me.

  • Looping garbage

    • My Nexus 5X (LG) only looped on me this week. What is it with LG?! Will stay away in the future.
