  • Whats their coverage like?

    • They use Vodafone network, so as good as Vodafone is.

shouldn't the title be "PER month for 6 months" ?

"New customers only" - as usual, TPG showing their lack of appreciation to their existing customers. Nothing's changed.

"If you port your mobile service number to another carrier a port out fee of $11 is payable in addition to any other charges"
I was once with TPG, when I left, I was hit by the exit fee and had to chase up the $20 deposit, will never go back again.

  • Do you still have to pay the $20 deposit?

Been on TPG mobile for 4 years, happy customer.

Worst mobile provider ever ….. will never go back….. Kogan is way better….if you like VODA

I also have been burned badly by TPG. When everything's working they are fine, but they seem to have absolutely no idea about CUSTOMER SERVICE, when things go wrong. They kind of act like it's your fault when the hardware/network resources they are leasing/on-selling to you screws up, and cavalierly inform you that you will simply have to wait until things get fixed by the entity they are leasing from. They supply false dates as to when that this will happen/keep pushing the date back… and the whole concept of compensation/making you 'whole' after weeks of zero service is beyond them. If you really push them, they will offer you exactly the dollar amount equating to the number of days you had no service, and not a penny more.

My sincere advice is to avoid these turkeys.

  • It often takes many hours for an earlier SMS to arrive after you exit airplane mode.

Vodafone network is bad for internet. Absolutely nothing during peak hour in the afternoon at my favourite cafe in Sydney.

Extra data is in $10 / 1gb lots.

Not sure if they still keep the prepayment when you leave.

  • My family have been with TPG for 5-6 yrs. Luckily so far so good.Stick to TPG as i can make overseas calls within the plan. The $1 plan is really good as it includes 50mb.But if you exceed the limit - 10 cents for a mb.

  • They will also take your 'security deposit' when you terminate your mobile service with them.

  • I was with them for a few years when they were on Optus. The service went to shit when they switched to Vodafone. I'm on ALDI mobile now and can't be happier.

  • I was with TPG when they used Optus network. It was terrible and as mentioned earlier you need to beg for refund of $20 "deposit".

I am with Telechoice since then (18 months) and things are going good except Customer Service for which you need to email them.

I have had the same dramas with TPG. Was with TPG mobile for a few years and just recently switched over to the 1yr ALDI Mobile Super Pack.
Had to mention Telecommunications Ombudsman multiple times in my emails to them to get them to refund the $20 deposit. They would not refund the $11 port out fee.
Will never go with TPG mobile again.

  • I feel this has been unfairly treated. Represents good value for a few caveats . 7GB for $19? AND you only have to commit for 6 months and then can go to another cheap provider?

    Am I missing something?

  • OP needs to update the description. It includes unlimited calls & SMS (i.e. not just Local calls). Confusing also that it says "The plan does not include any Calls & Text (SMS & MMS)"

I'm about to get this deal- but I'm worried that it has so many down votes. I will argue the $11 port-out fee. So thats really the only downside I see. I don't want a Kogan/Optus 12 month contract because that is absurd.
