  • I got a offer of 20000 points in my email with similar text.

      For the bigger card (with $89 annual fee) probably?…I got that one.

        nope got the same offer, 20,000 points, zero annual fee

    Booo. My offer was only 10,000 points

    • Me too :(

  • I got 20k offer only with $89 fees. Not sure how they are targeting people.

      You have to play coles to your advantage. If you keep buying from them their offers dry up. If you skip a few they try and win you back.

        This is exactly right, it is 'bizarre-but-true' that Coles actively/transparently 'punishes' loyalty with these (counter-intuitive) 'promotions'… very odd tactic Coles. I'll stick with Woolies until such shenanigans cease…

        Even thereafter, probably. The damage is done now. About the only thing that would get me to regularly visit Coles would be if they emulated Woolies' "free fruit for kids" program. I have said it numerous times before on here and I'll continue to say it (soz' to those sick of my rants on this issue!).

        Here in my (relatively poor) neighbourhood, I regularly see many kids actually eating free fruit provided by Woolies, in Woolies, which I sincerely doubt many of them would actually get otherwise. Woolies really should be commended not only for 'trying out' this initiative, but for maintaining it in the long-term. It stands to reason that right now as I type, a substantial number of kids across the country are healthier than they would otherwise be, as a result of Woolies' free fruit for kids policy. It has been well over a year now, and they are still doing it, in every store I have been to. I'm legitimately extremely surprised that this unprecedented policy hasn't received a lot more positive attention from the media etc

        Anyways, HUGE 'ups' Woolies, love your work in this respect. Rant over.

        [BTW, I am not affiliated with Woolies or any other commercial entity]

        • The coles I go to has free fruit for kids. On a stand with baskets down it. Kids love to grab a peice
          😊

          @Popport:

          Erm… are you sure that's actually a Coles? Because that is the exact Woolworths model that you seem to be describing… which I have never seen in any Coles…

        • I shop at woolworths, but their offers also "punish" loyalty.

          Between my wife and my own ER card, whichever has spent less recently will always get the better offer. (i.e. $100 spend for X000 bonus points on one, but $130 spend for the same bonus points on the other.)

        • @Popport: our local superbarn has free ice cream for kids.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles: absolutely, South Australian store

          @Popport:
          YAY for Coles SA then. If they start doing it here in VIC, I will start going back there.

          Thinking about it, it's a bit like the opposite of the idea the government toys with now and then of taxing unhealthy food ('fat tax' etc.; which has always smacked of revenue raising to me…), but it promotes the same outcome.

          Yay for Woolies, for using a 'carrot not the stick' approach (or should that be 'carrot-stick' approach?!? lol) to promote kids eating healthy food!!! I don't even care at all if a large part of their plan is to get peeps in the door so that they spend up on other things while they're there. It's simply a great thing to do, and it sets a great example for kids.

          Step up, Coles!!!

  • Damn.. and I was looking to sign up too. Hopefully will be available for fellow ozbargainers

    • +1

      i will… 2 year price protection??!!!

      • Do they actually honour it. I mean you just wait for Boxing Day Sale and you can literally get most of the items you bought throughout the year discounted

  • From experience, what's the minimum spending?

  • 20k offer for me

  • Question: With these Coles Mastercards do you effectively get two lots of Flybuys points when paying with the card? I.e. swiping flybuys card then paying with the Coles Mastercard?

    • I would think so

    • +1

      Yes you do.

      Also my card has Flybuys bar code on the back of the credit card. Very convenient.

  • signed up last week, received the card today, really quick turnaround. Now I just need to make 1 transaction, get the bonus points and cancel the card.

  • Already had my 15 000 points, now paying it off and cancelling it.
