Once again I'm back with a Mi5 deal, even better than the last due to the recent 10% cash back. Down to approx 270 AUD from 300 AUD with cash back, from dreami who are known to be the only store to provide the official global rom, most users haven't had any bad encounters with them. I'll let you all be the judge, considering all the specs and it's RRP up near 500, this is a bargain you cannot miss with 170 pieces+ available.

Specs:

Snapdragon 820
Flagship processor

3000mAh(typ)
High density battery

16MP
4-axis OIS camera
13.08cm (5.15")

Ultra-bright display

4G dual SIM

Fingerprint sensor
Front-facing

129g, Quick Charge 3.0

NFC…. and the list goes on, cheapest I've ever seen the phone so far.

  • Photo shows the ceramic back version. Is that what is on offer? I thought it was 4gb only.

    • +1

No. None sale black version for this low price.

    • The basic is $270, only have white in stock standard 3GB 32GB, however the prime version is $284.90 3GB 64GB which I reckon is definitely also worth it however only in gold.

      • +1

$270 price is after Cashback. Original price is $300 which you should mention in deal.

  • not only dreami offers global rom. other sellers do the same. they open boxes and install global rom

    • Such as??

      • you might want to install the official global ROM yourself

  • Is it normal to expect over a month for standard shipping from Dreami? I feel DHL is the safer option.

    • 2 weeks for me over the non-Chinese New Year period

    • Go DHL, safer & quicker plus its not that expensive

    • got a note 4 (as an upgrade from his note 2) for my son from them, was about 2-3 weeks. Was well packed and great item and great price. Although it came with global ROM, it was 8.0.5.0 and official was 8.0.4.0, but else OK.

I would use them again if I was after a Xiaomi.

    • Mine arrived in around 2.5 weeks (free shipping)

    • I bought a Mi Max on 27 December from Dreami who constantly said it's on its way. That's 56 days since order date and it's still not here. I will never recommend buying from Dreami. The tracking number does not work and their last message to me was that I may open a dispute if it doesn't arrive in 60 days. Good luck.

I grabbed one from Dreami on their previous sale and it turned out to have one bright dot on white screen. Supporting from them considered to be none (was told to send back to China at your own cost). Consider the warranty before buying in case you're unfortunate to get a faulty one!

    • +3

that's a shame but generally that's most grey imports

  • Does anyone know if cashrewards will work if I use the $10 coupon I have on my account at Aliexpress?

  • +1

    Ordered a prime, cheers

  • I wanted to get this phone but its missing Band 5 for LTE which will impact 4G on the Vodafone network.

  • SOrry I know this has been dealt with before on phone deals but I just can't work it out. Will this work with telstra 4g? Looking for a sub $300 phone with great camera and decent processor, 5" or less.

    • +1

Yes this will work with telstra 4G, if you leave the major cities you might experience some minor drop offs in coverage but thats it, I highly recommend the phone owning one myself

    • +1

Have a look at the Mi4c or the Mi4s thats 5" and i have one great phones!

  • I ordered one from them last week on Wednesday. Still phone has not been send. They promise send as soon as possible but I do not trust much now.

  • +1

Thanks OP, picked up a Prime.. Looking forward to something a little smaller then my beloved Mi Max

  • Hmm can't seem to find this in Black anywhere…

    • +1

Black is the ceramic back pro version, you have to pay upwards of $500 for it with 4gb ram & 128gb, imo not worth it but feel free to look

      • Thanks for the heads up and yeah good point, I can live with a white phone.

  • what's the deal with the front camera? it says 4 MP, f/2.0, 1/3" sensor size, 2µm pixel size, 1080p@30fps while xperia X has 13 MP, f/2.0, 22mm, 1/3" sensor size, 1080p

which is better in terms of front camera? i am not quite understanding ultra(micro or mu) even after reading articles on it…

No idea but from experience I believe its pretty average, nothing special but not terrible either. Better than the horrid moto g4 front camera

  • Really good price. Bought one ! Thanks OP

Great phone highly recommended 7+ hours Screen on time on wifi running cm13. I usually get 6 with mixed use.

    • Wow, good to know mate. Watched a couple of reviews which eked out around 6 hours screen on time on wifi on the stock phone or 5 hours with data/wifi (miui).

Couple of questions if you don't mind:
1/ How have you found camera performance on CM?
2/ Is there any reason you haven't updated to CM14?

  • +1

1 Seems ok but i didn't use Miui so can't compare them.
    2. Mainly because there is no xposed for Android 7 yet.
