    • (afaik) when you activate one of these sims, choose the option to port your existing number (if doing it online) or tell the service person you want to port your current number over. Normally i think this is free and is done by the company you are switching to, but i am not familiar with TPG mobile, so not sure of that fee you are talking about (hopefully you don't need to pay it and boost sort it for you)
once you have successfully ported your number to boost and are on the plan cycle, all is good.
now when your month is finished, and you want to use another boost starter pack, you will need to activate a new carriers sim, like the optus ones you have, and do the same process in porting your existing number to that new carrier network (in this case, tell optus you want to port your old boost number over)
once this is completed and tested (by calling the number with another phone) and if it successfully works and is changed to the optus network (optus logo on the top left of your phone screen) then you can activate one of the new boost packs, and repeat the process from the start of porting over your current optus number to the new boost plan etc.etc.
hope i was clear enough and if that's what you were asking. again this is just how i believe it will work, im also a novice in prepaid plan sim hopping, but will be trialling it with the help of these boost packs :)

      • My god thanks for the clarification, I bought 12 to live me a year XD, I was paying $20 for 1.5gb in TPG, was sad I missed the ALDI and Kogan mobile deals but 7gb for $8.50 is worth the trouble!!!!!

Within 12 months of monthly porting you will become a pro, and during that time likely develop your own thoughts about "dual sim mobile phones".
          In the meantime:
Consider the traffic being generated by monthly prepaid Telco swapping and try to avoid personal contact.
Find out when is the optimum time to port & when is Telco dark side of the moon.
listen to your messages before porting.
I found turning my browser security "history on" useful while doing my own porting.
Put your sims in a safe place.

The $10 Optus SIMs (bought for $1) are great to port out / in from Boost / Telstra. Use the 5 x $2 days (calls, free music steaming, etc + 500MB/d) before porting back. Those were free a few times, so stocked up then.

Have been porting out & back using free Vodafone $2 or Optus $10 SIMs & using free or $1 SIMs for calls & data since 2014 (& dearer SIMs for years before that). Never had any problems. Still have same number & haven't paid for a recharge for around 10 years.

Passed on this deal as too expensive for my tastes. Still have these $30 Boost SIMs from free deal last year.

    Beautiful - got 6 :)

  • So romantic I got three just for me!

  • by long exspiry do you simply mean the time given to activate or do you mean the amount of time the credit lasts? how long dos the data last ?

think thats probbly all i care about unless somone can convice me other wise

currently on freedom plus and trying to make the credit last longer but failing hard ………..

  • It says on groupon there is a limit of 3 vouchers. Is this wrong? How do I buy more than 3?

    • Nope. You will need multiple accounts if you want more than 3.

Did anyone receive the SIM pack through mail?

  • Got mine in the mail today- 2/6 expire oct this year so now I'll have to complain- buyer beware

    Rest exp oct 2020

Expected that may have been the case with most rather than some SIMs.
Deal stated are (older) packs labelled as $20. So can't be sold in retail outlets after cost & plans changed. So being offloaded instead of adding sticker or repacking. These packs were selling for $10 or less to move this $20 stock at Kmart after plan changed & got these free in Boost deal.

2020 is nice bonus on some.

Complain! Ask them to send 2020 ones & keep near expiry ones rather than returning - as its their fault / deception😯

      • Do we have grounds to do that? It only says "activate within 18 months" , no specific expiry date mentioned on deal.

        • True. That phrase would usually infer you have 18 months in which to activate. That would be your choice. That is the normal meaning with starter packs.

It could be read as you will be given an activation date on pack up to 18 months time (expiry activation date could be next week). That would be their random choice.

A reasonable person reading the promotion would expect the choice would be theirs (up to 18 months after receiving pack).

I would complain. I've got a full refund to CC for a meal deal from Groupon - AFTER eating the meal. (The voucher had been redeemed before seeing the meal.) Reason - it was not what I had reasonably expected from the Groupon wording.

Groupon must have got these so cheaply, so the cost of disputing a complaint (staff cost, possible loss of reputation) would likely be higher than simply sending another SIM.

Of course Groupon may say no more SIMs are available - ask for a refund in the same form you paid by.

The cost of you returning the received SIM to correct their error would be seen as unreasonable.

        • @Infidel:
I received 2020 ones too, does it actually mean I can activate it in 2020? or are we still stuck with the within "18months of purchase"?

        • @graysama:
          Lucky you😀
Goes by stated final activation date from Boost (2020), not incorrect information from Groupon who are simply distributing these.
          Enjoy😯

        • @tonester:
Complaining to someone who can do something about it is always better than complaining to someone who can't😯

Good to read your justifiable complaint brought a positive outcome.
Link to how to contact Groupon above. Others should follow your lead☑

Groupon has always given me what I asked for when I've complained. I just point out their error, if necessary the ramifications for Groupon if they don't do the right thing (consumer law, loss of reputation, etc), and they have swiftly responded.

  • Ordered 3 but only received 2. have contacted GROUPON. They want me to take a picture of the 2 that I received.

  • Just received the 3 i purchased all with 10/17 expire date it's ok i want to use them for data monthly I'll use them before that date.

  • Received mine this morning with Oct/2020 expiry date.

  • Pfft…you have to pay an extra $15 for a bolt on to make any international calls or send international messages…what's the point of the $30 credit if you're excluded from using it towards certain services?

    I'll skip this one.

To each his own, some of us need only the data and long expiry.

  • Received this morning with Oct/2020 expiry date and order other 3 with different email account..

  • Ordered 3, and somehow got sent 4. One expiring Oct this year, the rest on Oct/2020. Guess I got lucky?

    • Must be one of mine. Ordered 3, but only got 2

  • +1

10 out 12 sims we received have an expiry date of "03 OCT 2017".

  • Has anyone been able to get Boost to stack all vouchers on your account?

    • Why was i given a negative comment? Stacking works with other providers….

    • Can't be stacked. There's no voucher. The $30 value is preloaded on the SIM.

You/WE might not be able to but support might be able to? Lebara doees it easily.

I tried to activate a Boost $30 Starter pack last night, porting my existing number, and got an email saying there is a problem and I would need to contact the online chat team (India based I think). So I did that and was told by the agent that starter packs must be activated with a new number and you cannot port your old number! WTF ! Never heard this before. Anyway, after an hour of putting up with the super-arrogant agent, I basically told him to get stuffed and instead activated one of the $1 Kogan sims from the recent deal.
Has anyone else had this problem with Boost lately? I was trying to port from a Woolworths Mobile sim (also Telstra, like Boost) so maybe that was the problem?

    • Can be an issue porting Telstra - Telstra or Boost. Has to be done differently. Telstra advised it was easier to port to another Telco & back to Telstra or Boost. I've ported into Boost from Optus no problems.

      • Ok, I will try to port to Boost next month, should be easier as Kogan is on Vodafone network.

        • Telstra - Telstra requires use of a blank SIM available from Telstra. Decided not to bother.

  • can we use this credit on this sim for google play purchases?

may i know where it is stated "Long Expiry !! (SIM card must be activated within 18 months of purchase)"

    • SIM card must be activated within 18 months of purchase therefore if sim expiration date is 2017 - how can you activate it around or close to the 18month mark…

      • I have the same problem too. I am going to file dispute…

  • Looks like it's sold out…?
