  • Please put the ongoing price eg ($30 Ongoing) after the $10.

Putting it after 3 months is confusing. Thought it was $30 for 3 months.

Operates from the Vodafone network for anyone wondering

  • +6

    I don't lyca Lyca.

    • This is better English than parts of their website

  • Not bad for a holiday burner for a visiting friend
Caveat is Vodafone coverage I reckon

  • If no good can we cancel anytime? even within the first 3 months?

Also do they send you a sim card?

  • Sorry to be pedantic but its not $10/month for the first 3 months, it's $10/renewal at 28 days each, as per their conditions:

    • Black Friday purchase period: Between 22/11/2024 and 05/12/2024 (AEDT).
    • Activation period: 30 days from the day of purchase to benefit from the offers for eligible renewals.
    • Discount price of $10/28 days applies to the first 3 renewals; thereafter, $30/28 days will apply.
    • 80GB every 28 days if you stay connected to this plan and have auto-renewal enabled in your settings.
    • Activation counts as the first renewal.
    • 5G is available in selected areas using your compatible 5G device. Download speeds are capped at 100Mbps.
    • Data banking: Rollover up to 300GB of unused data, as long as you recharge with the same or a higher-value plan before the expiry date, or within the 48-hour grace period.
    • Plan auto-renews every 28 days.
    • It says "$10/28 days on three renewals". So should be the first 4 * 28 days cycles are all on $10 because the first $10 is initial payment.

They are the worse provider to deal with if you are porting your number. I have been through the hassle and finally had to bin the sim and wasted my $12.

Please stop redefining a month as 28 days and artificially make the offer more attractive than it is. This is deceptive and misleading advertising.

    • +3

If there's a mistake in the deals, moderators are there to correct it and their contribution is appreciated. I'm not related to Lycamobile in any way so deceptive and misleading advertising is a hilarious thing to say, even for you.

      • -1

Nowhere on Lycamobile did they display monthly renewals. You turned 28-day renewals into monthly with your own writing, and this redefinition is deceptive and misleading. Pointing this out has nothing to do with correcting errors because this was not an error. I had also done the same here where the redefinition was done by a Rep.

I think your original comment is incorrect @alvian?

Please stop redefining a month as 28 days

          Should be:

Please stop redefining 28 days as a month

Just curious how this constitutes a downvote?

      As per the voting guidelines:

      Inappropriate uses of negative vote

      Complaint about SPAMMY title.

      • Incorrect and missing information are unintentional. I claim this redefinition of 28 days as a month is intentional.

Hmm I saw your original comment.

Incorrect and missing information is unintentional. I claim this misrepresentation is intentional and constitute a problem with the poster.

Good thing you changed it as that would’ve also constituted an invalid vote:

          An issue with the poster.

          • @HamBoi69:

and constitute a problem with the poster.

I'm glad bro's intrusive thoughts went away (for now) 😊

Hopefully no hard feelings on OzBargain.

  • I have reconsidered my negative vote and I see that it now serves no purpose after the misleading and deceptive term month to stand for 28 days was removed from the post. I revoke my vote but I condemn the poster for his unauthorised, unjustifiable, misleading and deceptive alteration to the deal.

Good on you for fixing the post and doing your job as a site moderator. Keep up the good work. 👏👏

    • +2

I condemn the poster for his unauthorised, unjustifiable, misleading and deceptive alteration to the deal.

This amazes me that a "moderator" needs to comment like this, you need to set an example. Just edit and move on.

      • Working as a moderator does not mean I have to suppress my personal opinions, and I am entitled to express them on this website as long as I delineate between my job and myself. My vote and comments here were not labelled as moderator and they are subject to the same guidelines, and open to discussion, voting and reporting as much as yours.

An example was set before and ignored here, therefore I personally felt reinforcement was necessary. What amazed me were your willing acceptance of OP's lengthening of the 28-day billing cycle to that of a month, which then misrepresented the price by 8.3%.

  • this is now $5 for 80Gb
