Or redeem 7000 Telstra Plus points for it via Rewards Store.

Buy it via Rewards Store and earn 170 Telstra Plus points.

    • 7000 points is about $21 worth.

      • So should be less points?

        • Yes, wait till you can't afford it like last time. Telstra Plus points do expire according to the terms, but there seems no complaint yet. I think it has been well passed 3 yrs since its release so that there should have been points expired if Telstra had enforced it.

Every time the required points pretty much matches the sale price. Here the 7000 points matches $17. If it drops to $15, the required points will be less too. The last time sale was historically low and gone forever.

@Neoika: Great Intel….I was going to look for this old post to recall if this is a good buy anyway. Seems it is.

            Thank you kindly

Points haven't typically been standardised.. 7k points is approximately $16.92 now

If you check out the accessories or phone pages and opt to pay with points you can use the slider to see the points vs $ equivalent

Good call! Only downside is it seems you can only redeem physical SIM card.

If only it would stay at $17

  • Can I use esim on samsung watch if phone uses another carrier?

  • Was thinking of getting a sim for the car stereo as to cant be connected to Bluetooth and wifi at the same time but I think the data expiry will kill that idea

So about the price it should be then… Sigh. This country is still 20 years behind other developed nations for telco and internet speeds and cost. Unlimited plans are common place and cheap in the US and throughout Europe. And yes "wE aRe A lOw DeNsItY CoUnTrY!!", but we're still getting bent over and paying for our Government's mistakes.

I disagree, our mobile data is some of the cheapest in the developed world. Cheap "Unlimited" plans in the US come with caps on tethering and bandwidth slowdowns when you use over a certain amount of data. Truly unlimited plans in the US run for A$100+ per month.

  • Would Boost > Telstra be considered new?

    • Yep, I churn between the two every month, ideally when they have a special.

      • Do you just keep porting out?

        • I recently switched back from Boost to Telstra on a deal and I will port out to Boost again next week. So yes, porting out works with no issue.

  • if only this could be used as some PAYG plan to use the $49 as credit on other things like intl roaming pack… Otherwise $17 SIM churn for sim sluts isn't great value

  • Redeemed my points via Telstra Rewards -7000 points but there were no options for an eSim. Lame.
