[SWITCH] The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Limited Edition (Pre Order) $189.95 + Shipping or C&C @ The Gamesmen

196

Hey guys, stumbled across this when I was looking for stock for this game, they seem to be the only place that are still selling stock. They have a physical store so you can pick up if you prefer. Otherwise postage prices seem pretty reasonable.

RRP preorder is not a bargain

  • +1

Retail price is not a bargain, even if it is interesting that you found it. Belongs in the forums.

    • +5

Negs for following the rules? Interesting.

      • -5

The exact same deal got posted for Jb Hifi and got 82 up votes. There is a lot of demand out there for this game and preorders have already sold on eBay for $300+ It may not be a deal in the sense that it is listed at rrp, but it is so incredibly hard to find that it deserves to be listed where the most people are going to see it.

      • Negs for following the rules?

What rule? Repeating what I said here, there is no such rule, lets stop spreading misinformation.

Our stance is that, as always the community decides if it's a good deal or not through the voting system. If you think it's a good deal then + vote if it's not for you then don't vote, if you find it cheaper elsewhere/issue with retailer etc. then negative vote it.

Mods aren't RRP police, that term itself can be ambiguous. The community decides if it's a good price/deal through votes.

        Thanks

        • May I ask why my post that "RRP is not a bargain" was revoked at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/290110#comment-4404193

The page has a number of posts there with the same comment.

        • @Smigit:

          Your exact comment was:

          not a bargain.

          Guidelines

Any negative vote that falls into any of these reasons will be revoked by a moderator.
          “Not a bargain.”

Your negative vote here is fine as you've given a reason.

Please use TWAM if you wish to discuss further.

        • Is that new? I thought that was a rule. My mistake :)

        • @omgitzrick:

Not new, there was never a rule. Most likely you saw it written in another deal post and assumed it was correct (understandable).

          Thanks

        • +1

Can the mods seriously consider a new tab for these types of posts, a more free for all tab? Suggesting the use of the forum is not helpful, the helpful part of this site is the RSS feed and quick notice. Not archaic forum structures.

The people against RRP are just filling up every comment section for people who just actually want to discuss these deals. It has become rather frustrating and tiresome. They will win on persistence alone, not for the good of the site to the community.

        • @yellowc:

There has been some misconception that RRP is supposed to be posted in the forums, one person writes it and 100 people read it and assume it's correct, hopefully we can clear that up.

Somewhat ironically a lot of these discussions/negative votes for 'RRP not a deal' have come on deals that are technically below RRP ($99 NES classic deals, where RRP is $99.95), yes it's very close but technically speaking it's a discount (just a small one) and not even relevant to the RRP not a deal debate. 'RRP & close to RRP' deal tab? How close? What about overseas items where RRP cannot be determined/items always higher priced in Australia etc. There are a lot of variables like that. We are all ears for any guideline proposals (site discussion forum), but from my point of view I can't really see how a guideline could be created and enforced.

There are also a lot of good phones released in the past with a low RRP that were incredibly popular (a couple of Nexus posts or Xperia XA post more recently off the top of my head), also some of these deals are receiving over 100 votes and receiving mass interest so justifying them being removed from the main deal stream is difficult and putting them in any separate tab but leaving them in the deal stream isn't going to change opinions (although we could have a way to filter them, however the same issue remains of how to define/apply any such guidelines).

For now, as always the votes will decide what is good/popular deal or not and we will do our best to clear up any misconception that there is a rule about it (in any case, the report button should be used for any guideline violations).

        • @hamza23: but this isnt a bargain really so what else should we say?

        • @hamza23: Fair enough, the problem isn't even really the listings, they tend to clear the neg votes just fine on their own and if they don't, that's that. It's mostly the toxic comment section on listings the community has clearly accepted as ok, it just creates a comment section that is harder for people interested to actually use.

I can't really report "RRP, not bargain" posts because their not against the rules either, it's an opinion like any other, the only wrong part about it is trying to enforce it upon other people as rule, not objecting to a deal. I suppose as you said there really isn't a clear solution, the only real suggestion I have is to have a filter option for the comment section in to positive|neutral and negative listing voters, so at least we can focus on the comments relevant to us. Not the default option naturally.

It will be once you see how much people will be scalping this for online. JB Hi-Fi received only 1,400 copies nationwide. I say this is one of your last chances to get this title under $200 AUD.

    Good luck.

  • +1

    OzRRP. Again….

  • +1

    Yeah, come on man…

why waste a post on a product that is sold at RRP.

    • +1

Because it is sold out everywhere and impossible to find

      • +2

How could it be sold out everywhere if it isn't even out yet?

        • Each store only got a certain allocation of units and they won't be getting anymore. Even when the game is released.

        • +1

Maybe this would be better posted on ozRRP or ozStockfinder

  • This is the retail price, not a bargain. This belongs in the forums.

  • +4

    So many butthurt people here

    • -4

What exactly is your definition of butthurt?

      • -2

Once again, negs but no reply. What a wank.

    • +6

Not sure about you but I use to love this site. Now it feels like 90% of "bargains" are RRP/close to RRP, advertising or catalogue/stock alerts.

Don't get me wrong still some true bargains listed that are great but 90% are not even close to being a bargain. Feels like going through an eCatalog trying to filter out all the bs

      • +1

thats pretty much how i feel about it to motlking

      • No one is forcing you to buy the game. I posted the deal because I believe that there are people out the that really want this. At the moment they are prepared to pay upwards of $300+ on eBay for a preorder. For someone that genuinely wants a copy of the limited edition version of this game, this is most definitely a deal.

        • +2

Don't get me wrong Pulse123 I am not attacking you. A lot of us are just have a different definition of "bargain". My opinion is something like this should be in the forums.

        • @motlking: or in a new section called something else

  • +3

What a bargain i will take 60…….then ebay them

  • Do we have to do this every time? Can you people just learn what the actual rules are please?

LISTING RRP IS NOT AGAINST THE BLOODY RULES! STFU ALREADY!

  • +1

Don't take it to heart mate. Thanks for posting though.
It isn't a bargain, because it is RRP. It's like posting tickets for a concert knowing it'll be sold out and that you could resell for a higher value.
If you see it as an investment, buy it, sell it for profit and all of a sudden no one else's opinion matters…

  • +2

Don't feel this is a bargain. It's the same price a number of other stores listed the product at.

  • +1

Mightyape.com.au also have stock for anyone interested

    • I noticed that when I was looking but there delivery dates seem to be quite a while after the launch date.

      • Express shipping guarantees to arrive on release or 1 day before

        Source : Personal Experience

  • Is there any sellers that are importing the master edition with the carry case?

  • -1

vooks did a CNN and claimed it was EB and JB Exclusive, Still taking pre-orders at Gametraders, mighty ape and other indy stores
Pretty sure BigW and Target will have this on shelves at launch, but target in past have done preorders

  • Can't believe the Switch isn't bundled with any games.

$189 is standard retail price everywhere. No deal, as it will probably be cheaper on launch day. Even if all the preorders are sold out. It won't become unavailable like the NES classic. Which was only released in limited numbers.

    • Yup. I think it's a mistake that Nintendo are making. The Wii had Wii Sports, which is arguably one of the better games on the Wii. It was their first "killer app" that made casual gamers drop $400 or whatever to get it. It's what made ME get it after trying it out in the store.

With no bundled games, and no big launch titles other than Zelda, this is going to be a very wobbly start for the Switch. I'm not going to get one until December when there are more games for it. Looking forward to Mario Odyssey.

      • Some would consider "1 2 Switch" a bigger Nintendo title, its in the vein of their minigame series which are alot of fun and have alot of replay.
People generally underestimate and undervalue them, the average joe video game fans get into them, while the hardcore subgroup minority turn there noses up online… Even on Wii U those games did quite sell relatively well (Nintendoland sold decent outside of bundles).

Live plays of the game at events have alot of positive feedback, will include single player modes.
With that said, it could be a pack in at a later date, but still see people getting it at launch. Looks fun.

      • yeah, wouldnt bother with this.

Without games, it's just a good idea without content

much like 3D TV back in the days when it was all the rage… look at it now. no gives a poop

    • No bundles was to keep the price down in US ($299 US), and to keep the insecure gamer types from feeling like they didn't have a choice of game at launch. Pick which one you want or wait. 1 2 Switch, Bomberman, Zelda or Imaginators. The average joe gamer is already buying these Switch systems and there stock is limited in other regions.

If 12 Switch was bundled, nerds would be crying because its too mainstream for them to consider. It has a bunch of 20 + minigames for replay, so it will be fun at launch or later if they do bundle something, maybe Wii Sports Switch.

    • +1

I think you are a little confused there. Cheaper on launch day? How? It'd be SOLD OUT. They won't be replenishing it, the only ones that MAY become available launch day in say an EB Games are the ones that people cancel (unlikely). The NES classic is being reproduced, a limited edition game doesn't get reproduced.

      • In 2017 with the WiiU loss, Nintendo would have to have completely lost the plot to sell out of this game on launch day. I can't recall any other title in recent memory that did so. It's all bluster to gain preorders. A week after it's released every store will be trying to discount the game to encourage sales and move stock.

        • You do realise it's not the standard edition right? That's not any chance of being unavailable.

Nintendo has a reputation of driving up interest with low stock levels, especially on limited collectors edition content. As opposed to seeing most companies 'limited edition' copies being flogged off at EB 3 years later for the price of a pizza….

  • Not a deal if its RRP
