Just downloaded this to try…for the first time ever…and I am very very overwhelmed

    • Yea…WoW's initial onboarding is notoriously bad.

I feel like you'd be better off playing a wrath private server. Personally I feel wrath had the best complexity and difficulty.

20 year old game so yeah. You are better off trying out Season of Discovery

      • Quick Google says there's a BFD raid which sounds fun but they're going to have Naxx as the next raid? Bit of a leap

        • its all significantly easier than modern day expansions

  • so glad I don't play this anymore, such a money sink

    • Yea…I play for about 30 days once an expansion when there is a sales event like this.

      • +1

Yeah this is the way to maximise dopamine hit. That feeling of legendaries getting replaced with blues

    • Not much money compare to mobile game. More of a time sink. I donot have time to play anymore.

      • I don't spend a cent on Wordle.

    • +1

Sorry but don’t you mean time sink? I remember too many days playing up until 4am, grinding over and over in raids, coordinating my guild, checking constantly in the auction house… omg FLASHBACKS!!!!

  • No go for myself.

  • +1

    I…must…resist…again…

  • Played this so much 20+years ago, can’t believe they still charge so much.

    • +4

It was so fun back then.

  • Has been plagued with bugs lately. The quality gone down since they fired their QA department. https://youtu.be/ALOuAr2lPxk?si=rn0XXlhqdeU-t7d8

  • Wondering with the decline of blizzard, how has this affected wow?

Days are over when you could blindly buy a blizzard game and expect it to be a banger

    • You really think people bitching on twitter has an effect on the game? Its still by far the most popular MMO

  • +3

I can't believe 1 month of WoW is now $23.95

    • +2

Wait until you learn how much a month of Kayo starts at

      • My friend says Kayo is a disease.

  • +2

I'm 13 years clean, must resist.

  • Is the WoW player base still going strong after all these years?

How long do you guys see it going on for?

    • +1

It's still in the top 5 of most populated MMORPGs.

It's already been 21 years. It will go on for at least another 10 and beyond.

      Runescape is 24 years old.

Final Fantasy 14 is 15 years old.

      • Crazy. I hope it goes longer. I played for a about a year and exploring the land was enough for me.

        • dont think there's any reason it shouldnt, every expansion launch is always bringing in millions of players and its one of the few MMOs with an Aussie Server which are very populated and since we are directly linked with US for group content its busy at all times of the day.

  • +3

it has been more than 10 years since I last played this game. A few friends who started this game from the first release date like me are playing this game with their kids now.

    • They have kids?

    • Nothing like introducing kids to addiction

  • I'm so glad I never touched this

I don't see the appeal, but even if I did, paying that much per month on a single game?
