Black Friday Sale @ COTD (Club Catch Req. - Free Trial Available) EG NES Classic Console - $99.99 Posted

194

Another one to test how fast your connection is, though without the amazing discounts of the last one.

Standout would be the NES Classic, given that pre-orders seem to be selling out left right and centre!

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2016

  • what's the regular price?

    • +7

      $99.95

    • +2

About that (without the free post), but good luck getting one this side of Xmas. EB Games' servers went into meltdown last time they released pre-order stock.

      • ok

        • @Spackbace: Its not like they are going to stop making them.

        • +4

@Spackbace: It's inappropriate to not explain your neg and only write "not a bargain" or "no deal". I think the context of MasterNoob's comment makes it quite clear why he has negged. The product is being sold at RRP, and he feels that is not a deal. Sure, availability of the item is low (although I'm not sure how much easier it will be during a COTD sale), but it's questionable whether or not that alone is enough to make it a deal. I'm inclined to agree with him. Perhaps list some of the other offers as part of this sale?

        • yeah but it ain't a deal.

No deal for me when I have to pay $69 for Club Catch

        • @Crownie:

Free 30 day trial available actually…

        • +1

@puffinfresh: I'm normally a stickler for that rule but it seems incredibly clear considering the reply chain that his reason is it's the regular price.

        • @Spackbace: unless you have already used up the 30 day trial?

        • +1

          @Tiggrrrrr:

Not really that hard for a new account

  • Is CATCHMAS still working for $10 off for spend $50+?

    • Yep. just used it on a bunch of dishwasher tablets.

  • +6

If rrp is $99.95, how is this a deal?

  • Probably a deal if you manage to get one of the two they will have available, and then sell it for $330 on Ebay.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nintendo-Mini-NES-Classic-Console…

    • Thinkk it was on good game, they were saying that the box it comes in, people were selling it for over $150

  • +10

Used to be a big fan of Catch. Struggle to find a decent deal these days. Shipping is also ridiculously slow.

    • +1

even for a club catch member, it takes them 2 days to ship out an order. priority order processing my arse

  • I thought COTD only sells things that aren't selling at the shops.
This makes it a rare item.

    • +1

In the good old days. Now comes with a catch, where most items are overpriced as well slow shipping.

  • cheers SB. might find something useful

  • I got one not long ago through catch. everywhere else had sold out. they are rare as hens teeth unless you want to pay stupid prices on ebay.

  • +1

$0.04 ABOVE RRP is NOT a bargain.

    • $0.04 postage? ;)

  • +1

WTF one sold on ebay for $624 inc post !!! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nintendo-Mini-NES-Classic-Console…

and over $210 just for the controller !! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nintendo-Mini-Classic-NES-Control…

    People are crazy !!

  • +1

That's just plain stupid. You could probs find a real one and buy 30 games for less than that!!

    • It's fair to criticise the deal itself but that is nowhere near true.

  • I'm not going to NEG

but I've had 2 incidents with COTD

the main one which pissed me off was when they advertised Steelseries Siberia V2 for $50

    around 100+ OZBargain members bought

only to find out they had received Siberia V1s !!!! so pissed off when that happened

    • CoTD use to have some really good tech sale… its all overpriced junk now…

  • Do they typically announce what time each item will go on sale?

    • Chalk and cheese and using illegal games… well done

      • not all games are illegal, you can easily get 100s of homebrew games and games no longer under copyright (Abandonware)

  • +3

NES consoles gone in a flash.

    • +5

How many did they have? Under 10? The things sold out seconds after going live at 4pm. Couldn't add to cart at 4pm as the site crashed :(

Revoking my +ve as this is just another COTD Clickbait.

  • +5

Total bait and switch from COTD. Was all over the site, no chance.

  • The bastards are claiming more stock available 7pm AEDT. It's clickbait, nothing else.

    • -1

Yeah they are probably "releasing" 1 every 3 hours.

Why not just put all the stock out at once and be over with. This is just bait and switch to get you signed up to Club Catch (which I will cancel ASAP).

  • +1

I am so fed up with this crap, offer small amount and only those with broadband win. Then you pay them double or triple elsewhere to own one. I was logged on and the page refreshed then when it was done hmmm sold out. I will wait 6 months until everyone who owns one sells on ebay for the price they paid because they don`t use it.

    • +3

      I have NBN 100/40 and I wasn't even close to getting one…

  • Their ps4 slim deal is ok ($295) when you use masterpass checkout ($10 off) and cashreward to claim 8% cashback. Comes down to around $265 I think.

  • +1

I got one at 7pm thanks OP

    • The stars must have aligned for you.

  • +1

Had one in the cart at 6.59pm, went on to check it out, and it was already gone before 7?
