The Good Guys currently have the Ipad Mini 2 32gig for $334, Officeworks price beat of 5% brings it down to $317.30 same price now, cheapest ive seen in awhile.

iPad mini 1 is similar to iPad 2nd gen; both have 512mb of ram, same processor, same screen resolution
iPad mini 2 has twice the ram, 64 bit architechture, A7 processor instead of A5 and better screen resolution.

How would this compare to the iPad mini 4 in terms of speed?
Apple website says CPU 1.3 times faster and graphics 1.6 times faster than mini 2.
ios 10 is no good on this unit as it has no finger print thing, cause swipe to unlock gone, ios 10 removed the key way users can unlock device in units with no finger printer sensor. THey refuse to add the option to swipe and unlock back even after load of complainsrt
the physical home button will need to be pressed twice to unlock now which only reduce its durability faster. Hence only ipad air 2 mini 3 and above is suited for the unlock method
Bad APple
use assistive touch and a magnetic case. I dont use he home button 90% of the time
it wasn't the point assistive touch or not, it is APPLE Removing a feature and not giving customer their choices, not every one want that new lock screen.
From memory this is the same speed and ram as iPad 2 (old and slow) yet it has a Retina display unlike iPad mini one. Is that the only difference between mini 1 and 2?
Speed won't matter as much if you are patient or mainly using one app at a time as switching can be slow even between Facebook and messenger at times.
A little extra ram would have made this operate much faster.
