Museum of Contemporary Art - Free entry. Activities may charge extra. But don't miss the cafe on rooftop. It has the best view of the Opera House, yet the coffee is just reasonable priced. You can sit there to enjoy the coffee before heading to either Opera House or Sydney Observatory.

Most of these attractions used to have free entry on Australia Day. We used to have a great day out with kids visiting the Powerhouse, Australian Museum and Maritime Museum but sadly of these now only the Maritime Museum is still free on Australia Day.
