This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

Example:

  • Richlands QLD
  • ULP
  • 111.9/litre

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

    Are there any rules/restrictions on using multiple accounts on the same device?

    IE couldn't we help a friend out, if we let them sign into our phone with the device mocking, then they sign back on with their phone?

    The current drop in fuel prices have bucked my predictions, If anything they've gone lower since I last posted on Friday (24/03/17)

      I find it has something to do with Android version after comparing Android 4.4 and 6.0 on my two phones.The lower version can get it easily.

    Okay this stopped working for me. It gives an error saying mock location detected. Just updated to android 6.0.1 or could be the app update.

    Could someone clarify- do I have to fill up all litres at once? Eg if I lock in 150 litres, can I split it across two visits?

    1 use only per voucher. no point locking in 150 litres unless you drive a semi.

      Ha dammit! I'd better bring some friends and line their cars up then. Anything wrong with that?

      Like, if I move my car, will that reset the pump? That how it works?

      (I say this because I locked in a ridiculous price yesterday, an error but the price is locked)

        Yeah you can do that. But the pump times out and resets after a little while, so you need to be kinda quick. I found this out while filling a lawnmower petrol can and taking my time before putting the nozzle in the car.

        You can also make a new account with another email address. Pretty sure this would work. Only you would have to have another amount stored on the credit card for the new price lock. After the seven days, the original price lock would expire, so you would be free to make another on the original account.

          @ycon: Open a new account with new email, then make new fuel lock. I thought it was a good idea, but then realised you would have to add funds to lock in the new price. Price locks last 7 days then expire, so you would just let the first fuel lock expire. Sorry, sleep deprived, I know I'm making it sound complicated.

          @all-for1: I'm pretty sure that would work and has been offered by a few members in the forums. I think maybe there is a maximum of fuel locks per day? (maybe 2?)

    Anyone having an issue getting a price lock for diesel today. It just says no one offering diesel nearby when I know it's not the case. Tried on 2 phones.

        Difficulties getting a price. I know at least 5 local 7 elevens have diesel, but the app says no price.

        I'm in Sydney, just now it's giving me a diesel price for somewhere 40km in west of here. Something funny happening, like diesel prices are missing from their database.

    Tried to use the app for the first time yesterday but kept getting errors saying I can't top up with credit card so have not been able to lock in the 113.9 price (everywhere else seems to be 130+). Has anyone else had a similar issue? Hubby got different errors when he tried but neither of us have managed to lock in any price :(

      The app does not accept prepaid credit cards.You need an ID verified one.

        Rang up their customer service line…They aren't sure what the error is but I'm guessing cos we both tried to add our own cards with the same number, it musta locked us from using it! So went in store bought a gift card, loaded it, locked in the price and went n poured fuel straight away, came back in and paid via Amex so winning! Also got a free Krispy Kreme! :)

          @chinezejew: fakegps. I suggest leaving in the amount u usually fill up with (I leave $80 in there) and pay using card or cash each time. Otherwise you can get errors

          the way i do every time that works for me (someone pointed me out to this earlier in the thread):

          this is on android, and will not work after the april android security patch as they've fixed the fake gps bug (and you'll need to either roll back or root)

          1. turn on fake gps and lock in a location
          2. open 7eleven, try a price lock. this will fail with mock location error
          3. swipe close 7eleven app
          4. stop gps spoofing, swipe close fake gps ap
          5. open 7eleven, try a price lock. should work

          note that in step 5, your phone is genuinely trying to find a location, so make sure you do it somewhere without a clear view of the sky, as if you do it in your car it'll lock a real location too quickly. the shitter is the best place.

          @nardz: I tried that but after it gives me a price the real location loads and then it wont let me lock. The new up/down liter selector turns grey and I can't lock this used to work with old slider liter selector. I think it might be due to me being on the latest version.

          @Clinton: i think factory reset. I don't believe April is an issue though - I'm on April 5th patches and i can fuel lock without any issue.

          I do have a permanent notificatoin asking me to install may though, and I think that'll do me in.

          Interesting to note though, when i looked a couple of weeks ago, the fix was marked in the May security patch. It seems as they've now promoted it back up into march. So if you've installed march or april recently you'd be screwed, but as of a couple of weeks ago you could go up to april.

      Goulburn seems to be still the cheapest for U98 @ 127.9. However you could get it at a ridiculous 118.9 from BP Plympton SA 5038!!!

      Wait I'm confused. So top up as in top up the app? Can't you just get around this by paying with card/cash/Amex and not pay with app leaving the top up amount on account for future fuel locks.
