This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

Example:

  • Richlands QLD
  • ULP
  • 111.9/litre

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

    Damn - no more cheap 98+? My shitty Echo has been spoilt by the quality of super 98+ and as a result, it runs like a Ferrari on highways.

    Does anyone know where to get high quality fuel for a tightarse driver? And NO, I'm not gonna consider doing drive offs lol.

        I locked in 98 at 131.4 at Maroubra (NSW) a couple of hours ago. Surprising given the 7-11 at kensington is 140.9 for 91!

      P98 is also 129.9 at Noble Park 3174 (113.9 for U91), for a splash of variety.

        It's 1cent cheaper if you go a bit further to Keysborough VIC. Prices as below
        E10=112.9
        91=112.9
        95=123.9
        98=128.9
        Diesel=127.8
        Diesel is a bit expensive here though, I think it might be cheaper elsewhere.
        Nothing will beat the p98=119.9 at Penrith NSW last week.

          The Penrith one actually dropped to 118.9 before they all increased.

          Sad. I had one locked from Penrith from last week but it expired and I forgot about it :( lol

    It's now at the point where it's cheaper to buy a discounted woolworths voucher (5% with entertainment book, or cashrewards), combined with a shopping voucher.

    for example, my local caltex/woolworths is charging 1.359 for 98. with a 4c voucher this becomes 1.319. 5% off brings it to 1.25305.

    you can even get another 4c/l off if you spend $5 in store, but then you're paying a premium on most items in store….

      Its always been like that. When local prices are all low, go discounted wish egift/gc + 4c stack.
      When prices skyrocket thats when 7/11 fuel lock +roadtrippin wins

        Im guesstimating that within the next week vic fuel prices will increase to 135+. Now is great time to lock in. Our sydney roadtrips will come in handy in about 3 weeks time as prices will have dropped by then.

    Cheapest 7-11 fuel is at Endeavour Hills VIC 3802.
    I've trawled through NSW, WA, QLD and VIC :)

    126.9 - Premium 98
    121.9 - Extra 95
    110.9 - Special Unleaded 91

    FakeGPS doesn't seem to be working anymore. The 7-11 app knows exactly where I am. :/ Tried on both wi-fi and 3G/4G.

      What I've noticed is that whenever I select fakegps as the mock locations app in developer settings it somehow defaults to 7 eleven fuel app. I don't know if the 7 eleven app is hijacking the setting.

      I raised the same issue but one of the ozbargainers advised me it was working fine but i am guessing due to update or something it might not be working anymore :(

      It works for me (Galaxy S6) using the following method:

      1) Open fakegps and choose location
      2) Immediately stop location spoof and close app
      3) Open 7-11 app and do lock in check. (Almost always gives the mock location error first up)
      4) Repeat steps 1 to 3 (It should give you a location error this round. So simply keep closing and opening the 7-11 app a few times)

      Fiddling with the developer settings never worked for me. It takes me like 20 to 30 seconds using the above method. I'd suggest putting the app icons somewhere that allow you to go through steps quickly. Speed seems to be the key. Especially after you stop spoofing your location.

      Edit: Oh and don't do it on wifi. I seem to have the best results when I'm moving (on the train but walking up and down my passage works too. Not saying that you have to be moving but it does seem to take easier when you are.

    Useful for those that can run only U98 or for those that can run U95 & U98

      Melbourne got down to 110.9 at the last petrol cycle. Riverstone is still 112.9.

      Usually the rise occurs over several days as more and more petrol stations increase their prices. No sign of a flattening in the average price on Fuelcheck. I think prices will stay low well into next week.

      I think you've locked too early. The price may well still be low when it expires in a week.

        If you lock early, pretty sure you can just buy some gum or a coffee and pay using the app money to unlock the fuel again

    Noob question- if I lock in a fuel price and don't fill up- then I can lock in a new price in after 7 days?

    OzB logic says wait until day 7 to fill up, if the price is cheaper- then gamble on the following day being the same?

      Not a noob question, yes the voucher expires by either time or usage.
      Can lock again after it expires.

      Also you never lose money with this app you'll always pay the cheapest price whether its the station price or your app price. Each time you lock in you also get a free coffee.

    I have updated to latest app update and seems your now limited to the amount of fuel you can lock in.Each type of fuel has different limit ie unleaded 91 125litres. …..
    Terms of use still state upto 150litres per lock in

    Just did my weekly check around the country, NSW is by far the cheapest when it comes to fuel prices.

    Feel free to lock in prices below, currently the cheapest for the respective fuel types. I have a feeling it will spike on the weekend or early in the week.

    7-Eleven Yagoona - $109.9 (91 Unleaded)
    7-Eleven Mount Pritchard - $121.5 (95 Unleaded)
    7-Eleven Penrith - $119.9 (98 Unleaded)

    PS. Is everyone still able to lock in using mock locations OK?

        Just use an outdated phone with no new updates. If you don't have one buy one off a friend for $20. Worth keeping in the car for when you need it. Can double as an emergency phone with the plethora of free sims you get from 7/11.

    Perfect 1st time lock method.

    1) Lock the location.
    3) Stop Mock Location.
    5) Open 7/11 app and lock in price.
