  • It's 8:18pm. Why are there only 2 bargains from today on the home page???

    • +4

Weekends are slower, not much on today I guess.

      • +7

I always felt that OzBargain was slowing down. Are the days of bargains over? Now that's a forum topic.

        • ~150 upvotes with no 'deal' posted yet. Definitely a forum topic.

      • +1

Yep, gotta do something at work.

    • +1

Many have tried, many have failed (including me! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287488)

      • Only 10 up votes to go, you can do it!

      • +2

        Only 13 now, have a vote :)

    • +3

That's daylight saving for you! In QLD we have an extra hour of Saturday bargains still to come.

      • +2

But is it worth it with all the fading on the curtains?

    • Who can be bothered today, there are some really good deals around actually

    • +1

Stores often start sales on Monday and end them on Sunday, by Saturday there aren't any yet normally :)

    • +1

Why don't you find one Savas?

  • the 1st landing page has "Ends 7 Nov"

    • +2

That's just a placeholder banner for the test landing page, eBay often use banners from previous offers to test how the page will look without disclosing what the offer will be.

  • Because toy story is before kids, does that mean it's all toys, not just kids?

    • +1

Another 20% off bigw Lego would be great.

  • +1

hm wonder if there will be any good drone deals

    • That would be good, I ended up getting the DJI 3 Standard from JB HIFI for $640 which I was happy with if that helps, hard to find stock but they are out there

  • OP - Which store did you receive the word back that it would run from 16th-20th Jan?

I just tried it with the Mighty Ape store and the code (CHEER20) has expired.

    come onnnn ps4 pro deal

    • I got my slim for $271 with an ebay coupon. Ebay is the best for those kind of bargains gl with the Pro

      • When did you buy and what code? I might miss this :(

    • I got my ps4 pro at launch from an eBay 10% off code, just went and found the email now.

      http://i.imgur.com/aKzvjf8.png

Pretty sweet, love the eBay deals. Much cheaper than buying retail.

      • +1

You know it retails for $559? Gamesmen has to increase the price to cover costs or so I have been told. You only really saved $27.

        • I was comparing it to the ebgames trade in where you could trade in your old ps4 and then get the new one for $300. Worked out that with that deal I just have to sell my old ps4 for $232 to break even and they were going for around $260-300 through gumtree / Facebook so came out way ahead of eb :)

    • i know this isn't a ps4 pro but is this price with the 20% off any good for a 1tb slim?

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-PlayStation-4-1TB-Slim-D-Cha…

      • You can add to cart and use a code to check out.

  • I'm potentially after a bugaboo pram. If anyone knows a store which sells these on eBay and is included (or likely to be included as the list is currently very short), please let me know.

    • +1

I've got a bugaboo pram and a Recaro Citylife package. IMO the Recaro is made a lot better, more comfortable to operate etc. If you get the Recaro with bassinet, it comes with the side attachments which work with a Maxi Cosi car seat.

      • +5

Wife has been nagging about a bugaboo pram for years. Unfortunately it's no longer about getting the most appropriate pram and more about just stopping the complaining :-p

But for the record, I agree. It's too expensive and has some really annoying flaws (like 2 piece folding etc). But happy wife, happy life.

        • +1

          But happy wife, happy life.

Good one, mate. Understood it at the right time. Never too late. :-)

          bugaboo pram for years

Are you sure your kids still need one?

        • @Gaggy:
A couple of years might have been more accurate (although it feels longer :-p). Also, we have finally recovered enough to start thinking about a second child, so yeah, many more years of prams for us.

        • @Gaggy:
It's to push her around in.

        • +1

@fruxo: Bought a baby jogger City GT and I swear I have only used it maybe 50 times. I got more use out of an Ergo Baby harness and a backpack. Frees up your hands and you don't have to worry about a pram.

The weight load us very distributed. Did my weekly shops with my little one strapped in.

In hindsight should of bought a cheaper pram. $700 for a pram is alot.

        • @jlogic:
Yes, we have the ergo baby harness, I'd recommend it too. We also have a $700 pram, which I thought was plenty expensive, but have a look at the price of the bugaboo donkey. Keep in mind that often only 1 seat is included and another has to be purchased. Try not to faint.

        • @fruxo: That would class as instant revocation of your OzBargain licence. That is mind boggling $$$$$$$

      • +1

few years back i went against my wife on the bugaboo, i went ahead got a graco jogger combo when the little one was born, Recaro easylife and Recaro young sport for the car, imo bugaboo and yoyo is overpriced

        • +1

Where did you get the Recaro from? I couldn't find anywhere that stocked them in Melbourne to check them out. I managed to get a Yoyo+ for the wife for $500 (was given an extra discount after price matching) which I didn't think was too bad compared to the price of a Bugaboo.

The Bugaboos are just way too big. Once folded, it takes up pretty much all the boot space in a Subaru Forester. Plus my wife has chicken arms so would struggle to lift it.

      • If the wife wants bugaboo, she's getting bugaboo

    • Not sure if this helps, but I've just ordered a Valco Baby Snap Ultra Tailor Made pram (not in ebay). Have you considered it?

  • any transformers masterpiece??

    • None of those shops really stock the MP's. Which ones were you after in particular as I'm looking to sell a couple MISB ones.

  • Increased the Porsche from $449 (yesturday) to $499 (today)

  • still not showing

    • Starts at 10:00am AEST

  • Code is CTOYS20!

  • Updated with New Year sale COMMIT20

  • Just tried COMMIT20 on Asics Gel Kayano at COTD but get an error message that the code isn't ready yet

  • Oh just saw above comment

  • +1

Nice, need to see if there are any decent laptops!

  • Nice, Futu have a bunch of HDD and Hybrid HDD for cheap, before the discount.

    • +3

MSY have it the WD Black WD2003FZEX HDD for $172.00.
For an extra $5 you have the convenience of picking up the unit on the same day + having local warranty instead of sending the unit back to FUTU.

      • +1

Has to be posted. I checked MSY earlier via Staticice (specifically the WD2003FZEX, which is probably what I'm going to jump on) and obviously glossed over this :/

        Thanks for the heads up!

      • +3

Good luck sending it back to Futu! When I had a problem they didn't want to handle it and advised that I needed to speak to the manufacturer.

        • Not Cool. Retailer needs to do that in first year.

        • Futu Online have some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with.

If you order from them, you got to pray the item works and doesn't go missing. If so be prepared for a huge drama. I was left without the item or money, would never buy from them again.

        • @LowRange: Did you raise a dispute via PayPal?

        • @Siuto: Yes, i ordered a BlackView and PowerMagic Pro they sent one and not the other. Because they had tracking showing they sent something i was left out of pocket.

So if you buy from Futu Online pray the order turns up, is correct and is working.

        • @LowRange:
          thats bs work from futu.
i wouldn't settle for any of this.
would have complained ACCC and filed a chargeback via bank

      • which is better a WD black or WD Red for 24/7 nas?

        • +3

For 24/7 use I recommend the Reds as they run cooler and use less power. Plus they are designed for 24/7 use. Blacks are more for performance but use more power and run hotter.

        • +1

          red

  • +3

Damn, I was hoping one of the stores were selling chromecasts!

  • Is ASICS Gel Kayano for 153 delivered a deal?

    • I normally wait for them to be closer to $120

    • Much better then walking into a bricks and mortar store.
If your current runners need replacing then pay it. Don't try and save $20 and then pay in pain.
If your a runner and a ozbargain user then the best method is to always be one pair up. have that replacement pair ready and then you have a few months to jump on the next deal rather then hoping one comes up when you need some.

  • Yes~
I'll try the 20% off price protection later tonight when I get home.

  • +2

the one time to co-op bookshop becomes the cheapest for a certain book then this code comes and makes the textbook I need cheaper. thanks :)

  • have no idea whats the point of these "sales" some stuff i was interested in their prices got cranked up, so when you apply the code its like 5% or nothing discounted:?/

    • +2

Welcome to eBay 20% sales where it is either useless or very little to be called a big discount sale. Few sellers have same price though.
Few members claim that sellers bear some cost of the discount. so thats why jacking, but is it fair to call it a sale then (raise the price and give certain percentage off)?

    • Or they drop the stock to 0, and say they will restock the day after the sale ends :)

  • +1

I know everyone jokes about the price hikes, but in all seriousness I purchased one of these on the 4th Jan for $25. Less than 2 weeks later they are now selling for $29. I will keep an eye out to see if it goes back down when this is over.

  • mmmm no dyson deals?

    • +1
      • Thanks hamza!

    • Any dyson v8 under $500 or am i dreaming?;)

      • I've been hunting around for a v8 absolute for under 700 since xmas without much luck :(

        • My price point is dyson-v8-animal under $500, almost there :)

        • Me to. Need to wait for GoodGuys 20% off $678. Will jump on it as soon as it goes live, shattered that Harvey Norman don't stock white goods on their ebay site.

    • Didn't get much interest last deal post which expired yesterday.

      • When they say AU warranty, what does it exactly cover? Do you have any ideas?

        • +1

It general it means that whilst the item comes from overseas, if something goes wrong you just need to send it to them in NSW, instead of sending it back to Hong Kong. They may have a repair centre there to fix it or they may send it overseas for you for repairs at their expense.

Having said that, I believe that Apple still cover warranty in Australia for items purchased overseas. If that is the case (someone can confirm hopefully), then the only difference is that you'll get 1 year Apple warranty instead of 2 year Apple warranty which you'd get for items purchased within Australia. Just not sure why SS don't state manufacturers warranty in the listing.

        • +1

Confirmed that answer is correct here. Basically for Apple you are just getting 1 year Apple warranty for grey imports instead of 2 years for Australian stock.

  • +2

    These deals never end..

  • so any deals worth mentioning?

  • Galaxy s7 or edge deal?
    Thanks

    • +3

Did you try the eBay search function?

    • Galaxy S7 $655.20 posted from Hong Kong, Galaxy S7 Edge $735.20 posted from Hong Kong

Seems like okay price at the moment for grey import, but seen Aus stock for not that much more in past and slightly cheaper grey import. EG $702 for HK Edge or $699 for Australian Galaxy

      Previous S7 deals
      Previous S7 Edge deals

      • Thanks mate. I think I'll wait for the Australian ones to come down in price so i can claim the Samsung smart watch

        • I'm trying to do the same, but everyone needs to keep in mind the following:
          "Participating Retailer" means a retail store, operator or an online retailer in Australia that sells the Participating Product, and is authorised by Samsung for the purposes of the Promotion, and excludes online bidding or auction websites (including www.ebay.com.au), any unauthorised retailer/operator, or a second hand store. The Promoter recommends that prior to purchasing a Participating Product, the customer verify that the retailer is a Participating Retailer authorised to participate in this Promotion, and that the product is a Participating Product;

        • I haven't heard of this promo. Can you give details on the free watch?
