400

Not my cup of tea, so to speak, but possibly a cheap entry level experience for some.

As a single traveller, it is interesting that you can book 2 Twins from $168, but a single is from $252.

Yes, P&O is known for putting the screws to solo travellers. I've see it where within the same category, you can have 4 people in a room for cheaper than one. Ie, $3000 for a single and $599 pp quad. Crazy.

Is there anything to stop me from booking 2 X twin and going solo?

        • no wouldnt presume so

If they ask, just say you have a twin brother who is in the cabin. Then just go to the cabin, change your top and come back out as the twin brother

The business model of most cruise companies is such that they are providing a base service at or below cost. All their profit comes from the sale of extras (alcohol, spa services, premium restaurants, day tours), hence they charge single travellers a premium to compensate for this loss of potential income.

      • because they will make more money from 4 people buying on board than just one.

        • Actually the reason is because wether you are one or two people you get one room. So if you are a single person you have to pay for all the beds in the selected room. If you are 2 people the cost is shared between you both, so it looks cheaper per person

        • @iperezgenius: so you might expect to pay twice/four times the fare etc. You seemingly pay more than that.

        • @JohnHowardsEyebrows:

Its something like that….but i agree not a nice thing to do, especially because they don't offer a "single" room

  • Gotta fill those empty twin rooms somehow!

  • Bali to Australia?

    • $20,000 gold or bit coin only :)

  • Whats the normal price

    • normal price for sampler cruises would be atleast double but for relocation one its about 40% or so off!!

Does anyone have a URL to a decent layout that shows where these rooms are. I'm confused by the concept of inside and outside in this instance and does this mean you are basically in the engine room :)

    • +3

No if you are on the inside, you are like in the middle of the boat (each level has a middle) with no windows. The outside people will have windows. For $10 extra get a window.

  • Sold out?

  • Nooooo sold out :(
