Very close to stock. They do have minor customisations like their cloud transfer app etc
I like the look of this phone and followed it for a while but just be careful about durability https://youtu.be/EU6Tv-OfXk0?t=154
A friend of mine had one. It gets annoying after a while with that app to cloud thingy…
You can completely disable that. I have one from the last deal
Pros
Fairly vanilla Android
3gb/32gb
Quick charge 2.0
Chipset fast enough.
Debatably better than most chinaphone options.Cons
Has super fine digitiser lines across screen that are slightly annoying.
Battery life not so good.
Can't tap to wake - missing the hardware.
Fingerprint reader is on power button and its the only button that wakes the phone and it fails scan alot.At $210 it was worth it, but a nexus 5X at $300 to $350 is a much better option I think. It's gripes are sort of in your face every time you use it.
I think nextbit might go belly up too so don't expect slot of updates.
In some ways though some wins here for $200 for vanillaish Android, Snapdragon 808 with NFC and fingerprint reader. I mean it does everything a 5X does I guess and hopefully the 7.0 update makes it out to owners
Con: The phone is entirely plastic and can be snapped or crushed super easily.
The Google moto g 1st and second gen, Samsung galaxy up to 3 or 4, the LG G2 and G3 g4 were plastic and people didn't crush those too much. The nexus 5X is plastic too… agreed It is a disadvantage vs other phones Bumper Case is pretty much mandatory.
@smileymiwo:
I can't imagine trying to bend my phone like that. Weak though.@smileymiwo: It's not just from it being plastic, it's the design of the phone.
On his review with Nexus 5X, he mentions that "there is nothing wrong with plastic phone". Nexus 5X did pass the bend test, slightly further down the video.
I don't take this guy's "tests" seriously. Glorified clickbait really. Unless he objectively applies the same amount of force to every single phone, his tests are moot.
@twister292:
7 days in and I haven't had a gorilla take my phone off me mid Android pay to fund my skinny latte,and snap it in half in front of my beady scared eyes yet. It is weak and probably a design flaw. Again as I said above if your budget allows, a nexus 5X would be a better device in all areas, Allphones are doing them for $349.
botnet phone
looks good
Kick Starter
no thanks
nice price, didnt they go with stock route for their roms like Nexus?
essentially its a Nexus 5x?
