Recently I took advantage of the Cash Rewards Offer for NEW CUSTOMERS to Hello Fresh and Thought that was pretty amazing ($85 off the total cost).

However since getting my box I got a generic code for NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY which is used in the check out to discount your order by 100%. This works for any combination of Classic, Veggie or Family Box.

Bonus is that you can choose different options depending on what box you want.

Classic - 2/4 people, 3/5 meals
Veggie - 2/4 people, 3 meals
Family - 4 people, 4 meals

Best combination being for 4 people and 5 meals on the Classic Box for $0 delivered (usually $189.95)

Remember to Cancel it straight away if you dont wish to have it every week as its a subscription service which will to continue to deliver to you unless you tell it otherwise!

Changes to your account (meaning ordering or cancellations) need to be done before Wednesday 11:59PM (Sydney time) the week prior to your next delivery. Users should cancel or downgrade their box after they've ordered as they prefer. You can deactivate after you have made your order by clicking on your account and settings. Click deactivate immediately as the 1st order will still be delivered, just nothing subsequently after this.

    Thanks for the codes. I've been wanting to try these boxes for awhile and this is a great deal (possibly too good to be true). Will see how the box goes and might end up reactivated subscription if they are good value.

      Awesome glad to be of help. Despite peoples reviews i actually really enjoyed at least one of the meals that much that it is now part of my weekly cycle of things to cook for dinner!

      Unfortunately we have been experiencing technical issues with one of our voucher codes. It appears your account has been created using this faulty code.

      At this stage, your account has been cancelled and you will not receive any orders from HelloFresh. We have removed your details from our system, and any payments taken have been refunded.

      The $1 is preauthorisation and will get refunded. Mine did from this same code a couple of weeks ago.

          Yes. A friend gave me this code and I didn't realise it wasn't unique. We had a classic box for 5 meals.
          Honestly, they were quick and easy enough but we really didn't enjoy the food itself as we found it bland. Also the delivery said it would be from 4pm to 8pm and this was confirmed multiple times by emails/text but they delivered it at 12pm to the un-airconditioned lobby of our block on a hot day, so by the time I got home it was warm. I got food poisoning from the fish (serves me right for eating it).

      I would not cancel right away, cancel on Monday when you get the box. You have up to next week Wednesday to cancel for the following Monday. You have just flagged you are not a genuine customer.

    I guess they have already received over 2000 orders in the past 1 hour. As the experience that happens 2 years before, I think they will cancel all orders.

    • I hear you, but the fact is they're using a generic code. It isn't even targeted. Not sure how they can argue that one..

    After your first charge, your weekly subscription can be modified, paused or cancelled.
    Your regular deliveries will be charged on a weekly basis.

    Does that mean I have to atleast pay for one delivery?

    • No. Just go to subscription and select cancel. You then pick your next delivery (final delivery) for next Tuesday. Once you cancel, they mention that after your last delivery you will no longer be charged. So net result is you pay $1 only for the 1 delivery.

    • No, You can cancel immediately. You can also cancel from PayPal to be sure nothing is taken out. Make sure you get your $1 back though

    To avoid future surprises from Hello Fresh, make sure you cancel recurring payment if you paid via Paypal. Here are the steps.

    Log in to your PayPal account.
    Click the Settings icon next to "Log out."
    Click Preapproved payments.
    Click Cancel Enhanced Recurring Payments.

    • I would would use credit card, easy to dispute payment.

    If there is only a small amount of orders I guess they will honour it, if there are thousands of "activate-deactivate" orders…Good luck.

      I once worked for a shop when I was in the uni and they wanted new recruits from time to time. With a good will I gave their number to my new neighbour who was also an uni student then, seeking a casual job. However, before he phoned the shop he called all his friends, giving them this number and encourage them to phone the shop…In the end none of them got the job.

    Will get cancelled for sure, they'll say the cards weren't meant for multiple usages.

    From the T&Cs;
    "A Voucher may only be used once by its Holder and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, resold or published either directly or indirectly in any form or stored in a data retrieval system without our prior written approval. A Voucher is only valid on a household's first box."

    • This was included in my order box and there were 5 cards in there alone with the same code. No such mention of the above T&Cs anywhere to be seen on the card apart from the mention of one per household.

    • Used once by the person using it (not the person giving it out). They do this themselves all the time by handing out cards with the same code on them.

    This is wrong on so many levels. Please bear in mind those guys are trying to run a legitimate business, probably established from their valuable savings.

    Yes, what you are doing may be legal, but it's totally unethical.

      You may have skipped the class on "Customer Acquisition Cost" It is possible that some people may reactivate their subscription after receiving the box. Dont be so quick to judge.

        • Why is it a false analogy? They give you a sweetener in the hope that you don't pay it off in time and have to pay them exorbitant interests. There's a reason why most credit card statements don't contain the date that the interest free period ends. They do everything they can to make you pay them interests. It's a business tactic. Is that ethical to you?

      That is why you use a credit card, print off the cancellation form and send it to your credit card company. Watch them do the magic :)

      • A workmate had issues cancelling HelloFresh - they missed her last delivery, so they arranged another one. Unfortunately this then re-activated her account, and another unordered delivery came and funds came off the credit card.

        Did a chargeback but took months and bank had to cancel the credit card for some reason.

        Is a bit easier to preemptively cancel in PayPal.

  • Just tried to order the Classic Box (5 meals, 4 people) using each of the 5 listed codes under 'Got a promo code?'. I'm told 'This voucher is invalid'. Am I doing something wrong, or is the deal expired, withdrawn?

    Terrible experience. Also once the trial is over, the convenience is not worth the cost.
