Recently I took advantage of the Cash Rewards Offer for NEW CUSTOMERS to Hello Fresh and Thought that was pretty amazing ($85 off the total cost).

However since getting my box I got a generic code for NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY which is used in the check out to discount your order by 100%. This works for any combination of Classic, Veggie or Family Box.

Bonus is that you can choose different options depending on what box you want.

Classic - 2/4 people, 3/5 meals
Veggie - 2/4 people, 3 meals
Family - 4 people, 4 meals

Best combination being for 4 people and 5 meals on the Classic Box for $0 delivered (usually $189.95)

Remember to Cancel it straight away if you dont wish to have it every week as its a subscription service which will to continue to deliver to you unless you tell it otherwise!

Changes to your account (meaning ordering or cancellations) need to be done before Wednesday 11:59PM (Sydney time) the week prior to your next delivery. Users should cancel or downgrade their box after they've ordered as they prefer. You can deactivate after you have made your order by clicking on your account and settings. Click deactivate immediately as the 1st order will still be delivered, just nothing subsequently after this.

    So they cancelled all our orders, and are missing out on a whole lot of potential business from everyone. Filing a PayPal dispute to get my dollar back. Great job, HelloFresh! Not even making a conciliatory offering up front is a huge mistake.

        Nope, I wanted to see what they were offering, it sounded like a good thing. No chance of any of us finding out whether or not it is now.

        Cancelling or not doesn't matter.

        If their box wasn't a huge rip off then people would reorder again, there is nothing stopping them from doing that.

        But we won't, because the company is shitty and the products are a rip off.

    Now that they have my contact details they are sending me promotion emails after cancelling my order:

        Good idea but I expected some wording on their own contribution. From the email it sounds like they just want to get $180 off me and give overpriced food to those in need. That's how they have made $3bn worldwide…

          Yeap - certainly some dodgy practices on multiple occasions. Fly to close to the sun and you get burnt. Only this isn't the sun - its a big pile of crap. So don't fly to close or you'll get burnt and smell pretty rancid.

    Have people's accounts actually been deleted which should happen as per the email? "We have removed your details from our system, and any payments taken have been refunded."

    I can still log into my account and it's status is "Active" (I hadn't cancelled yet)…

        • Spoke too soon, my account seems to still be active. I also contacted their support and apparently I received the cancellation email in error…

          EDIT: To clarify, the support person said my order "has gone through successfully" and that I can expect it on my specified delivery date.

        • Just got another email from support, this time stating that the previous advice was incorrect (as I suspected). They're a bit all over the place but they gave me another code so I might try that :). My original account which used the "faulty" code appears to have been changed. They changed the login email, deactivated the subscription, and I think they also removed the payment information.

    Definitely a nice way to collect customer data and start spamming at the same time they cancel the order.

    Has anyone tried to cancel the subscription? You have to confirm it x times that you really want out and to top it all off you can't even cancel without giving a reason which i believe would violate some rules/regulations.

    • What exactly is it violating? Can't you just say "No comment"?

    This is like the David Jones Duffle Bag deal, 1K+ orders placed and then cancelled a short time later.

    Looks like people haven't learnt their lesson from that deal and thought they would have a higher chance of getting this item as the sum is 30 cents higher - despite the bag being 70 cents, many didn't bother to call/go in-store for a refund so DJs pocketed free money. But I think there should be a poll for which deal is better in terms of the hilarious comments ๐Ÿ˜‚

      Good point there, but I wouldn't bother with it unless it's over $1000. Anything under $500 is just not worth it, you'll end up paying more in legal costs

  • I never received the order cancelled email. Went and checked the website and still says im sch for delivery for dec 19th.. i only ordered the 2people 5meals so may have slipped through ;)

    • I received the cancelled email but account is not deleted and stills says Monday delivery, downloaded the invoice and says same. I'm guessing they will figure out how to cancel soon.

    I think the reason my order wasn't cancelled and the same for some others is that I used a code that was posted on page 3 or 4 (can't find them now but they were different from OP)

    Mine came through as $0.00 and I received my box. Just checked my credit card statement and there is a charge for $189.95. I have just lodged my dispute with the bank but have noticed that they dont send you any invoice with the discount amount.

    We just received our box @ 11:30PM. Food is reasonable, however I don't see the value, and its not saving us any time heading to the supermarket as there is still other meals required.
