Correct me if wrong but not a single person in that thread owned these speakers and there is no review.

    When was that feature introduced???

    • +3

when mono moved to stereo and folks started listening with both ears

Many high end speakers are sold in singles, always double check whether you are buying a single or a pair.

        • Why's that Zarcady?

        • +3

@cornbeef: Design of high end audiophile speakers make them very configurable and versatile so they can be used in L/R, centre, rear R/L, mid R/L etc. Selling as singles gives greater choices when you set up a HT system. This is especially true for systems designed for multi-channel configurations.

The KEF R700s are sold as pairs (http://www.avaustralia.com.au/kef-r700-floorstanding-speaker…)
but the equivalent THX speakers are sold in singles with option to buy as pair (http://www.avaustralia.com.au/kef-ci3160rl-thx-in-wall-speak…)

Cheaper brand speakers are always sold as pairs because there is no option to configure them into a multi-channel set-up, and ultimately no point.

@cornbeef: Not sure, but my expensive studio monitors were definitely sold individually

  • +1

first glance thought they were Audioengine

    • They look very similar to my a2s.

  • No stock showing for Perth but I guess if it's ex display stock there's only 1 per store which probably won't report as in stock online.

  • +2

It's ex-display. Not sure whether anyone has ever taken a good look at display speakers at JB Hifi, but they are often damaged. I have seen some pretty awful stuff there.

  • Anyone listened? Or more importantly mixed with these?

  • Only stores with available stock and within 200km from your location will be displayed

so basically no where is sydney has any.

    • Bankstown + Roseland in stock (1pair)
Also Woden has 1 pair but call before you drive there!

  • How's the quality on these, say compared to JBL & Yamaha?

  • +1

Does anyone know if these are magnetically shielded?
