well numerous time it has said they are available but the actual checkout pages come up as gobbledegook, with wrong details and errors, so that part of the site isnt even working correctly so i cant see how if you DO get in you can actually purchase an item as it is at the moment….

they could have just edited the page and say
"deal coming back at 6pm, please clear cookies & cache & then come back at 6pm"
or point the server URL to a new blank page showing just a few words

you know i suspect its all just a con, it seems there is an ever increasing amount of online stores posting on ozbargain and ultimately through one reason or another the promos end belly up and lots of people unhappy.
I've noticed a LOT of disguntled posters on their facebook page dissapearing and posts deleted, looks so reminiscent of the shoppingsquare saga.
Investigating this all i would be very hesistant on actually purchasing one and parting with any credit card or other personal details, if they cannot seem to run their website and checkout operations…i dont think i could trust them with my financial details

i would also strongly reccomend as a precaution to anyone who actually got to the paypal log in page to change their passwords - i was unable to verify if the page it redirects to was legitimate but it seems a great way to steal a lot of paypal accounts in one hit if it dodgy

While I commend you on a very good price for this deal, I think your communication to the large group of people here was lacking.
I understand you were having server issues and stock problems, but for around two hours people here were crying out for any information at all and there was silence.
People are generally happy to deal with technical problems, they happen all the time, but communication is critical. Take 2 minutes away from fixing the problem to communicate with the masses who are causing the problem.
Personally, and obviously this is just my opinion, I wouldn't feel comfortable buying from pricesengine unless the communication level improved dramatically in the future.

I am suspecting, their paypal account has been put in limited access. until they can prove proof of stock, supplier info, proof of delivery, also proof of ID or company details.

What utter rubbish. It's IDEAM Pty Ltd, the same company that's been running 9289.com.au for a couple of years.
As to the JavaScript, it appears to be partially generated, with the server filling in the quantities left. Why they didn't just output that in the HTML instead I'm not sure, but it's hardly the most solidly put-together site out there. Where you got the idea from that it's random is a mystery to me.
If you “think” you have purchased an item, please report it to paypal immediately so they can investigate as its entirely possible you wont receive anything.
Well, I've received paid for and received two things from this site, and several orders from 9289 before that. Their customer service sucks and the site and the server it resides on isn't quite up to the task but that doesn't equal scam, it equals needing to fix things.
Can I make a suggestion: don't go throwing accusations around without checking things properly first.

Minnie Whilst I appreciate you are trying to do your best, When you did communicate to the board you were saying wait a minute, so people waited for 2-3hrs. I believe in honest communication and I felt that information wasnt forthcoming.
When business list a special like this they have to expect that there is a major possibility that their server is going to have a melt down, to me this is very poor planning with their IT team, I ask what redundancies are in place, what stratergies they have in place when they are being attacked? In this day and age sites like this and catch of the day should have decent systems in place to handle larger traffic, I am sure there is alot of programmers out their with better solutions than they are currently using.
At the end of the day I couldnt care less wether I get one or not, What I do care about is how a business handles communication during a crisis, and they way they handled this was extremely poor.

But as you would have seen, they are the same company as 9289 so what he said most probably was made up. But yes, the communication part has to improve a lot if they want regular customers. That "wait a minute" line costed a lot of people their time.
Just got this email regarding my complaint of time out on paypal
We're experiencing extremely high volume of traffic since 12 noon. Which caused the overload of our current web server many times. That's the reason of the "Session expired.." error message. To solve this problem, we've already planned a immigration for our current hosting server in 1 week. We've added available quantity 3 times this afternoon. And they're all gone in 1 or 2 minutes.
Until now, the stock for the SAMSUNG HDD are all gone. Hope we can get more customers satisfied next time.

Rarely have I seen a disaster like this - frequent tries since 2pm and "sold out" was the continuous result.
If you run another VG deal like this then do ensure that you communicate clearly and that your server is up to it - I know that this PR disaster this will be mentioned every time you try a deal here for at least the remainder of this year.
