  • 6GB Edition (full size) is also available for $359.20 (With Code C20ELF).
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-nVidia-GeForce-GTX-1060-…

This is close to the cheapest I've seen this card.

Not sure if we will see it cheaper on Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

    EDIT: G1 6GB for $383.20

    • Is there much difference between the 2 for the sake of $24 is the g1 better?

      • the G1 includes RBG Lighting and a tiny bit higher clock speed (We are talking like 1%).

  • You gotta get 4GB of ram or above these days.

DOOM was the first to prove that.
You actually can't even max it out unless you have more than 4GB of Graphics Memory.

  • Any knowledgeable people know how this compares to the amd480?
Harvey Norman of all places is selling gpus and combined with the amex deal makes it a decent deal.

    • Much better, Especially if you're planning on jumping on the VR wagon.

      • are you saying 1060 better for VR?

    • Thanks for the heads up! I've been looking for something to buy at Harvey Norman to utilise that $100 Amex cash back.

      • You're welcome. Have you seen any cheaper? I'm keen to jump on to the 6gb 1060

  • So…like…what is this comparable to in AMD?

    • +1

The 8GB 480 AMD is very similar (performance wise) to the GTX 1060.
They also cost roughly the same.
There is a 480 deal on currently here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/276375

I was just being a reverse nVidia fangirl. I have a Gigabyte RX480 G1 8GB. It is the ducks nuts :D

        • I'm bouncing between rx480 and gtx1060 at the moment. don't know which one I should get. 1060 is better performance now but I think rx480 is better for future

  • Ive been looking for a 1060 but no idea which one from what ive read i need the 6gb. I like the look of the G1 and the reviews are good.

    • +1

Most people recommend the 6GB over the 3GB card for any recent game.
The G1 is $25 more expensive. It has basically the same specs as the Windforce, but includes RGB Lighting.

    • This video is helpful theres only a 2-4% difference at 1080 p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNhvmP8yNE4

  • Hey guys, my graphics card just died and I was wondering if this would be good for someone who does a lot of work using 3D software (Mostly Maya and 3DS Max)

I don't play a lot of games on my PC so would this suit my needs?

    • +2

Depends on the kind of Maya work you do. If you require precision and reliability, you might need a firepro or quadro because desktop GPUs like this are all about speed compared to workstation cards.

If not, a GTX 750 / GTX 1050 imo would work.

      • Thanks for the advice!

        • Thanks also

  • How much are these normally?

  • Got one thank you. 3gb is actually the best value, 5% (says Nvidia make it 10% if it makes you happy) slower than the 6gb version while being 20% cheaper.
