Such a joke that 480's require a 20% discount before they are priced anywhere near the RRP in AUS. Still expensive but cheap for Australia.

Honestly think people should just grab 1060's discounted.

  • Hmm. Not sure if to wait for vega next year or crossfire these. My 390x should do for now right? So tempting especially for the 8gb versions. Must refrain….

480 is only a sidegrade from the 390x. You should really only consider a 1070 or wait for vega…even a Fury is a minimal upgrade

Yea thats why i was considering getting 2 to crossfire. But i guess i do have to consider that not all games support crossfire and that is when a 480 would be considered a sidegrade with single card performance. Also i would love to buy either a 1070 or a 1080 but i have locked my self into AMD with a freesync monitor. Guess i just have to be patient. Thanks for they reply.

        • woops didnt see the crossfire mention lol

  • $359 for the 8gb seems okay.

Doesn't feel like thats going to drop that much over the next 4~ months, and it seems the only reasonable AMD card to upgrade to from my ageing 270x. Have a freesync monitor, so 1060 probably not worth it for the extra bit of performance

I would highly recommend not getting the Gigabyte 480, it has absolutely atrocious cooling. The MSI card on the other hand, like pretty much all of their other products, is great.
