    Challenge accepted…..

    • LOL I don't think that is what they meant.

  • Not the greatest of suburbs to offer free food…!

    • Yeah, that 1000 will probably be gone within an hour ;)

      ah, when Skaters On Ice and Maccas were next door to each other…interesting times.

      Ever heard of urban renewal? The entire area and surrounding suburbs has changed immensely and is continuing to change. The very fact that it took 3 hours to give away 1000 free burritos says it all.

    Apparently ran out of burritos by 3:30pm. I know they set a limit of 1000, but I am negging since they set the expectation the giveaway would be running until 7pm, with no post on their Facebook saying the promo ended.

      That's your problem not their's. Just like a regular sale, if the special is on til x day for the first y customers, but they run out of stock before x day, they're not obliged to give you more after hitting y customer limit.

      They ran out by 3:15pm. I was at the gym next door, just finished my workout (at 3:15pm!!!! Doh!) and thought I'd grab a quick post workout snack.. for free.. but alas they had just given away the full 1000 burritos. Doh!!!!
      There were a lot of school students hitting the store in the final 30 minutes (I was watching from inside the gym). The deal probably would have gone longer if there wasn't that last 30 minute influx. I mean there were no big queues of people lining up to get their free burrito in the hour prior, so it was a well paced giveaway for the most part. They did actually post on Facebook that it had ended as I checked out their Facebook site when I got home.
      Its all timing. I mean the giveaways started at 12:00pm and lasted for 3 hours. That's pretty good. Once word got out then there was no chance of the deal lasting until 7pm. Considering that the deal was announced days before, anyone keen enough could have rocked up at opening. They should have given away 1001 burritos, then I may have got 1. heheheheh. :) Considering I'm trying to (need to) lose weight it was probably a good thing. :D
      I find Guzman Y Gomez food to be more tastier anyway. Better quality that Zambreros.

    @Ozhunterz
    Thanks for your input man :)
    There wasn't a Facebook post when I left home(3:15pm), but I see on their Facebook page that they posted an announcement at 4:09.

    Pity you missed out by such a small margin, but I believe it was bad marketing to cut off at exactly 1000 burritos. Zambrero's Morley gave away over a 1000, and Guzman Y Gomez don't have a hard limit, they keep the giving them away until the time they said it would end, and then usually a few minutes after that.

    That said, I truely agree with you: Guzman Y Gomez is superior in both taste and service :)
