Free public transport is available to Victorian Seniors Card holders (* see note) during the first week of the Victorian Seniors Festival.
There are eight days of free travel on trams, trains and buses. This includes V/Line train services to Melton.
There are six days of free travel on V/Line economy class rail and coach.
Some V/Line rail and coach services require booking.
All you need is a seniors myki or a Victorian Seniors Card to make the most of our free trains, trams and buses.
On services that use myki (such as those in Melbourne’s public transport network and some regional train and bus services) just touch on and off with your seniors myki in the normal way and you won’t be charged during the free travel period.
On regional services that don’t use myki (long distance trains and coaches), show your Victorian Seniors Card to the conductor or bus driver. You need to reserve a seat on long distance V/Line trains and some coaches, check ‘Reserved V/Line services’ for more details.
Note: Public transport discounts are only available to Victorian Seniors Card holders. Victorian Seniors Business Discount Card holders are not entitled to public transport discounts.
