Hyundai Tucson Active X Manual - $29,990 Drive Away (+ $500 Worth of Accessories)

440

Auto is $2K more $31,990 (I am not actually sure what the $500 accessories are)

I just started looking around for a new family car and generally considering a medium-ish sized SUV/larger capcaity car

Compared to other cars i had seen and other deals this looked like a reasonable sale price where you could try negotiating the price further.
I look forward to hear about anything i am missing or how crappy this deal/car is!

The car seems to represent good value and also has favourable reviews, even compared to the Mazda CX-5 which seems to be a better regarded/popular car at the moment.

Note:
I am not a car enthusiast so particular brands or a lot of seemingly unecessary features don't interest me much (people make a big fus of apple car play and so much of the "infotainment", the look/feel of the cabin etc) i.e Driving a 2003 Getz for the last 10 yrs has caused me little concern!

Mostly i just want to get a good value and a reliable, safe, family car for urban/city environments - not off-roading or anything (probably similar requirements to most of the average/general poblic)

Not the identical model but very impressive review from John Cadogan (you love him or hate him - I'm a fan). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ioDRrdPljo

Yeah he's a top bloke, I always enjoy when he talks about the Holden Cruze or Captiva. He really liked the Tuscon however when we were comparing against the CX5, the interior just had so much hard plastics and the 2.0L is straight from the IX35. The 1.6 turbo petrol is probably the pick however that jacks the price up a lot.

  • I'm looking to sell my Holden Caprice to a family friend. I bought it without thinking and the fuel economy is so high. I think it's over 13L/100km.

Which Hyundai car is comparable to a Holden Caprice Sedan? Don't want another V8 engine.

    • How old is the Caprice?

      • 2016 lol

          Dude, bad call!

For the sake of maybe 5L/100km (at best!), maybe 15L/week = $20/week (at today's sorta premium prices)
          Even if you pushed 500km/week, that's a 25L/week difference = $32.50/week

Not huge price differences compared to the luxury and features of the Caprice.

Not to mention the loss you'll incur for selling it in the first year.

Stay with it, you'll find it hard getting into any SUV that's not a top-of-the-range model

        • @Spackbace:

I haven't closed the deal with my friend. It was more me complaining about my car and he offered to buy it.

The price of fuel isn't really a problem. It's more the fact that I have to refuel a lot more often than I am use to. I use to own a corolla that had great fuel economy.

I suppose I'll keep it now that I do the maths. It's really sad to see Holden close down its manufacturing facility and move offshore. Do you know if my 2016 Caprice will be the last Caprice ever to be released?

Do you know if my 2016 Caprice will be the last Caprice ever to be released?

At this stage, yes. There will be no utes, wagons or Caprice (based on everything the press is saying)

I know the fuel figures might suck, but yeah once you put everything in perspective it's just not worth the hit!

I doubt Caprice will see a final model change or anything different before end of production, so as long as yours is Series 2, it'll be one of the last :)
Don't be surprised if chauffeurs/uber etc want it once you do go to sell it!
