You have to make a purchase so I agree this isn't worthwhile.
You don't have to make a proper purchase. You could put $2 of credit on your 7/11 account and keep locking it in to get a coffee each week. (Locks in for 7 days)
You have to add a credit card and min top up is $10.
@DrKazanovaKK: I think you can transfer a 7/11 gift card but you're probably right with the $10 limit. I have an account already so I don't know all the swings and roundabouts.
Where do you get cheaper petrol than the lower of today's price and last week's cheap price?
Do you understand how the fuel lock works? At a different servo.
I can usually get a better price by going to Costco.
Costco is good if you live or work near one and are going to be paying the annual fee anyway, but not a good choice for a lot of people.
But @drazenm says they get cheaper petrol using the price search
How good is the 7/11 app when fuel cycle is going up, Monday last week fuel is 98c, monday lunch everywhere was $1.30 including 7/11 yet on the app boom still 98c so i quickly fill up a tank, then lock in next weeks fuel at 98c. Also buy $50 gift cards in store using ING to load on to app
Does the gift card give you a second 'account' so you could have two fuel locks at once, or does it just add to the one account?
I read it in the T&C's when this began, but when i asked in store, the operator didn't know and i hadn't gone back to check. Does gift card = relodable 7-Eleven Card? From T&C:
- You can have only one Fuel Price Lock Voucher at a time for each reloadable 7-Eleven Card.
- You can only create two Fuel Price Lock Vouchers per day for each reloadable 7-Eleven Card
I initially added value by CC, and it only allows one lock at a time. Two would be sweet.
No, you can only have one lock per account and only one account per installed app.
The "two Fuel Price Lock Vouchers per day" means you can lock in the price, put in fuel that day, then lock in the price again the same day.Single lock only, but you can easily make one in on another account and log in via that no dramas
Yeah you could log in and out of the app. But you'd also need to keep a balance in each account to cover the amount of fuel you want to lock in
OK. Cool. Thanks
This has been fantastic for us so far. Great if you use a full tank of petrol weekly and have filled up at the bottom end of the cycle. Then after 7 days, we have saved about 20c litre a week later if we were to fill up at street price. Petrol cycle being about a month now in Melbourne, any way to mitigate this is a win. Plus my other half approves, unlike my strategy of filling a 20L jerry can and filling the car up at home.
I wish it was free slurpee instead!
What size coffee?
What are all the different fuel types listed?
Special Unleaded
Extra 95
Supreme+98
Special E10I know what the E10 is but not all the others.

This page explains it.
Thanks
Got a crap price/want a free coffee but already have a voucher?
Lock in some fuel, put in two litres (minimum delivery on most pumps). Redeem the fuel voucher and it wipes it from your phone (you don't have to put in the litres you locked in, any amount will do). Lock in again, fill up the rest of the way, get a free coffee then lock in again etc…
Sorry if this is hard to understand.
I miss the free coffee with any purchase on Tuesdays. I would buy one of those red frogs for 20c and then get the coffee for free!
This doesn't work 'every time' just worked once!
im happier to lock OUT and buy petrol elsewhere cheaper ^_^
i usually save 10~$15 per tank just by using petrol price compare web page.
but, if you dont have to make a purchase and you get a free coffee, why not, win win :)
