For three days, Lonely Planets wonderful 1000 Ultimate Experiences iPad app will be free. So head to the App Store and grab it now. It’s a $US20 saving.
It is over 400mb, so keep that in mind when downloading…

The iPed runs Android, so Lonely Planet might eventually release the same app for that platform. ;)
But the iPed is what Apple sell in NZ, I wonder if the NZ branch of Apple (Epple) will sue those imitators?

Is there anyway to add these apps to an iTunes account so you can download them in future (eg, if I get an iPad) - a bit like the way Steam works for PC games?
Just download this app from iTunes using an iTunes account and it can then be downloaded for free again whenever you want…
Anyway to add it without downloading now? Want to save my quota for if/when I get an iPad ;-) Thanks
Just cancel the download after it starts downloading — once you've "bought" the app it will forever be associated with your iTunes account, and available to download again for free in the future.
I love the reviews … scathing to say the least :)
Maybe for $20 but can't be too bad for free…;-)
452mb…Glad iTunes store downloads are "quota free" with iiNet. :)
would it work for iphone?
iPad only. For those who dont have an iPad but have an iTunes account, simply initiate the download then stop it. It's yours forever and you can download it anytime you wish!
Just a word to the wise. The Lonely Planet apps will consistently stall during installation onto my iPhone. Even during a clean install recovery onto a new phone. The exact same thing also happened to a friend of mine. These apps maybe be free for a reason. JMTC.
Gotta give this one a +++++++.
BTW, havn't tried, but requirements says "Compatible with iPad. Requires iPhone OS 3.2 or later. "
From the last bit i assume it should work with ipod/iphone as long as the OS is at least 3.2…
Yeah, says iPad only…
Who knows, maybe will be released for other platforms later… like I;m going to waste my money on an iPad…
Expired.
Thanks, have updated the title. It has now gone up to $3.99, much cheaper than the previous US price of $20…
Awww no Iped app ;o)
