You need to update to the latest version of the mobile store app to be able to get it, when I downloaded the app from the main page of the website it actually downloaded an older version but I was able to update it from here.

iOS users: The Epic Game Store on iPhone is only available for European Union customers.

    Can’t install outside the EU..?

    • +6

Sorry, only Android in Australia it seems.

    • +5

yeah until Australian government forces Apple to allow 3rd party appstores

  • +7

The app is still very barebones, if you tap install then cancel it will add to your library.

  • Bloons TD 6 already free for Netflixers.

    • I'm pretty sure I got it for free previously (without Netflix).

    • +8

I belong to the group not having Netflix

      • -3

Honestly imagine paying for Netflix 😅

        • +1

I have a family member who does 😁

      • Then enjoy it next month, it’s a decent way to pass time on the train lol.

    • +2

well not free if your netflix ends also the save files are seperate from the btd 6 on playstore

    • +1

Well for Netflixers …the updates are delayed for 14-20 days lol ain't that crazy?

Well now it's free on epic..so this is better.

No type of subscription needed or any delays in updates.

      • -2

It’s not free on Epic yet. It’s free on Netflix right now.

  • +3

Do we know why it's direct and not from the play store?

    • -2

IKR.. big joke. Might install it on my old phone for privacy reasons

To avoid the 30% cut the app stores take on in-app purchases. Epic have been very vocal against that, even raising lawsuits against Apple/Google.

That's also why it's only available for iOS within the EU, their courts forced Apple to allow sideloading/alternative app stores, Apple only enabled it there and nowhere else.

      • +5

just to add Epic takes 12% cut, and devs keep 88%. users might not benefit but great for the devs

According to the article linked above, it appears Epic Games only takes a 5% cut if you use Unreal Engine for your games and offer the game on the Epic Games Store. They will reduce this to 3.5% if the developer and publisher launches the Unreal Engine game at the same time as they launch it on other platforms:

We also recently debuted Launch Everywhere with Epic. This new program offers a royalty rate reduction from 5% to 3.5% on all platforms and stores for eligible Unreal Engine games published on the Epic Games Store from 2025 onwards. To be eligible, games must ship on the Epic Games Store before or at the same time it’s released on other stores on corresponding platforms you support (PC, Mac, Android, and in the future, iOS). This program is inclusive of games participating in Epic First Run, which helps developers to maximize their revenue share during their initial run on the Store.

Looks like a very big enticement for developers to use Unreal Engine and co-launching their games on the Epic Games Store.

Installed the game, it just crashes repeatedly on my Galaxy S23 🙄

      Time to upgrade to s25

      • +1

Haha, yes, I was also in that thread, snagged one for $339, although I doubt that's the issue 😅

        • Oh nice, link to where to get it for $339? I need to upgrade my work phone it's an S7. For $339 I'm sold.

          • +1

@Agret: This is the thread I'm referring to:
            https://ozb.me/o/3jY0

It requires you to stack 3 different codes together, one of which is a $20 › $100 voucher I believe is no longer being sold.

Then you have to cancel a bunch of the accessories that you add.

It also requires trading in a phone, the oldest of which they accept is an S8, so unfortunately your S7 just missed out there. Although some people just so a "fake" trade in to get the bonus and then cop the fee. All the details are in the thread.

    • Well just wait a month or few weeks till they fix the app..and then the games will run smooth

      • I don't think it's a problem with the Epic store though, just the game itself. There's a big difference between "run smooth" and "literally cannot launch cause it just crashes" 🫤

        • oh i understand…..ive seen couple reviews where people did say its unplayable on mobile…keeps crashing on launch and all.well ig they stil didnt fix the game.

    • Same on my s23 ultra tried s21 also with the same crash

    • Just started playing, works fine on my S23

    • Fine on my A55 if that helps

Saw apogee and for a moment hoped it was a free classic apogee game bundle.

Strange game that im going to actually have to use mental capacity to try to understand, but looks like it could be ok.

    • I played it on PC years ago. It's a decently fun rogue-like sort of thing, not super complicated from what I remember. It worked something like you need to get the survivors of a spaceship crash through the levels of an overrun facility or something to where they can be evacuated, carrying their power core with them to set up on each floor and be used for powering something like turrets, mines, farms maybe, and going through waves of enemies that come out of the dark while expanding into each room, with each wave being worse I think. Maybe when you move the power core there's also a wave, so when running for the next exit you want to have a path of turrets etc set up.

Since theres no iOS locally, if you add it to Android, will it be on your account for iOS later as in an Epic "mobile" library? Or is it three different platforms - Epic PC/Epic Android/Epic iOS?

    • +2

Based on slipkord's links above they're separate listings for iOS/Android, using those links you can get them for both now
