  • Newfrog??? not Newegg

    Please update title

    • Haha my bad! Shouldn't post on my phone.

  • Pretty sure Newfrog isn't the same as Newegg

    • +1

      Frogs lay eggs though…

  • That's cheap for a USB 3.0 hub. (I'd have mentioned it's USB 3 in the title)

Same as this one for US$8.40 shipped…

    • that also had a power adaptor.
      good deal bro

    • Does anyone have this model and can comment if its any good? Thanks

I've bought one on ebay. Keep in mind that the power adapter is only 1A so it can only power 2x portable hard drives. I bought a 3A universal DC adapter from smith's dick to run at least 4 portable hard drives off it. Works well.

      • I had one, it crapped it self in fairly short order, maybe 3 months.

  • Quite a few deals, but how are the standards?

    • how are the standards

      The standards are lovely.

      So, WTF are you asking?

      • Standards of u and quality of USB port, don't lose ur shit mate.

        • I ain't losing no shits, m8. But I am certainly struggling with the language translation.

I'm making an assumption that you are trying to ask a serious question. However in order for anybody to answer, we first have to understand what you would like to know.

So, what does "Standards of u" mean?

  • Anyone have any experience with this type of hub? Are they reliable or do they constantly drop out?

Wish I could get them with an AU power plug.

    • I have a 4-port version of one of these, haven't had any drop outs with it, but one port doesn't work at all.

      • Thanks

looks exactly like one i got from MSY.
    the lights are so annoying

  • 'Compliant with USB version:1.1/2.0/3.0'

So 99% of the time, it is operating at 2.0 mode until someone care to test this out.

So 99% of the time, it is operating at 2.0 mode

How do you know that? 99% of what time?

If you plug USB 3.0 devices into it, then it'll be operating at 2.0 mode for exactly 0.00% of the time.

until someone care to test this out.

      Nobody cares to test anything.

I cannot even work out what you are talking about LOL

      • You must be the first time buying these cheap Chinese usb hub. Everything USB from China claims to be USB 3.0. They are betting not many people will find out their usb 3 devices are operating in usb 2 speed. It is easy for them to print a usb 3 label on any hub they sell.

        • It's not my first time buying them, but my comment was because I couldn't work out what you were talking about.

Why not use plain English and say "warning, some of these USB 3.0 hubs are fake".

  • I've got one…..one port was DOA and the enclosure is so brittle now the usb cable going into the hub has to be held at a certain angle otherwise it doesnt work…………

    • Get a technically illegal, horrid, non-compliant and probably (electrically) noisy as hell power adaptor that you cannot use here in Australia.
