  • How about kids? What ages are free? I was thinking about buying for my sister, her husband and 2 kids

    • In terms of base fare kids are never free, in fact they are full fare justified by the food and activities, even if they are the 3rd/4th occupants (which I think is a bit rich). However RCI often have kids go free promotions.

As below I am pricing up Carnival and kids as 3rd/4th guests are coming up much cheaper.

    • Hi aryan12, some cabin categories might not cater for kids or families - if you call us on 13 13 03 we can have a look to see what's available and also applicable for this sale.

  • As a long time RCI fan I'm looking at Carnival for my next cruise. Much better deals and they include tips in the base fare. Seems to be a similar standard, has water slides and kids club starts at age 2.

    • Hi LoopyLou, we also have Carnival Cruise Line sailings on sale available here, in particular the 3 and 4 night Carnival Spirit cruises ex Sydney

  • I can leave on the 24th of January with carnival to Tasmania for 5 nights starting at $818.50 for an interior, $898.50 for a ocean view, $1098.50 for a balcony and $1298.50 for a suite.. That's including gratuities..
So there really isn't a deal going when that's carnivals starting prices not on sale lol..

Aren't Carnival cruises plagued with kids though? The last Royal Caribbean cruise I went on there was like 3 kids on the whole cruise. Worth paying extra just for that.

      • There were a few kids but I just stayed in the adults only pool/lounge area when too many came up

Thanks for this info. Helps to decide for our first short cruise. Any other tips for a first timer. (looking at something like Brisbane 3 day in December.)

In the morning claim yourself a lounge in the adult area and get yourself breakfast from the buffet and bring it back to your chair (the buffet connects onto the adults lounge). Pretty much guarantees you a spot for the day as a lot of people will be laying in the same spot the entire time.
There is tea parties at 3pm i think it was on sea days. These are like a high tea with teas, cakes, fruits, ect. my gf and i enjoyed those.
A lot of the mains from the restaurant will be featured at the buffet also, so if you enjoyed something, you can always go for seconds whilst the buffet is open.
Pizza is open 24/7, freshly rolled bases and don't be scared to ask for extra or different toppings available.
Gyms are mainly packed around 10:30-12, avoid if you can.
          Any other questions?

Royal Caribbean cruises at that time would also be "plagued with kids" (to use your words).

Dec/Jan holiday RCL cruises typically have 500-800 children on board.

    Any round trips departing Melbourne?

    • Hi bobtt, no Royal Carribean ships are currently scheduled to depart from Melbourne in the next 2 years, however here's a list of all ships that departs from Melbourne

P&O Australia and Princess Cruises have several sailings that are round trip, but quite a few are one-way from Melbourne to Sydney or New Zealand
