Looks good if you have a table with hole in it.
Good price for a 5m extension cord! I'll Add it to my collection of 1 and 3m cords from bunnings.

True!
:P
this looks like a good deal though.. cheaper than the free standing one from big w for $42 last year.
Awesome deal. I just did c&c on one. Thanks!
These are crap, don't give of enough heat when sitting around a table.
The chest high standing units will get much more use and less waste.

could you provide a link please?
Really? I was at a mates BBQ about a month ago. He had one of these, had it set to low and it was still throwing off enough heat to stay warm.
Although I just realised you're from Melbourne and probably get a real winter.
Absolute rubbish. I have one and the easy heat a table of 6-8 people, comfortably. Maybe you live at the South Pole.
Maybe you live at the South Pole.
Nope, but nickyyboyy should have posted a pic of their table…
Would it b safe to put this on a glass top table?
I haven't seen one operating on a glass top before.. Only wood. But I suspect that it would be fine. I've placed lots of really hot plates onto glass table tops without any cracking and the distance between the heat and the glass is fairly large.
Yes, I have mine on one, and through many uses the glass has NOT shattered and left 6-8 people injured, possibly either dead or hospitalised.
Some glass tables have been recalled due to sudden glass shattering, and that's without gas near them.
Glass is a variable material
Manufacturing can produce defects in the glass
Restraint provided by the frame is important and will vary with the table design and whether it is rusting (expanding = bad, it compresses the glass) etc
Instantaneous and performance after many heating cycles may not be the same
Entirely possible he has a product that will behave very differently to yours. Or that yours will eventually break.
I'd say risk is low, but hey, it could go wrong.
I still think it's pretty extravagant to try to heat the outdoors….If it's too cold, go inside??
The idea is to provide radiant heat, not heat the air.
These make more sense than the ones next to the table.
Wearing an extra layer is better, but it adds a little atmosphere to that outdoor BBQ. And great if you don't have enough space indoors to entertain.
Maybe explorers to the colder nether regions of this planet should just not go there because it's too cold. Maybe kids should not go to school because it's too cold outside. Please remove me from this planet, I beg you, I'm getting dumber.
Well.. its a matter of value, really. Some of those things may not be worth doing, or might be worth having an alternative solution to!
Can anyone advise whether it can be used in indoor such as living areas? And what kind of gas supply is required (portable gas bottle)?
Doubt it. The larger versions of these all come with warnings about only operating in well ventilated areas (like patios with at least one wall missing). I'd suspect you'd die from carbon dioxide poisoning.
Thanks Trozza for your advise. How would it be possible? It does the same job as a wall gas heater do in the house.
It's the carbon monoxide that will kill you. NEVER use one of these indoors!

Portable gas bottle. To be used outdoors. This is not an indoor device.
Yes they can be used indoors but only if you want to kill the people in the room
All i read was Yes
Or join two of these and get 6M for $3.02 ;)
You know it's late when trying to work out why a gas heater needs a 5m extension cord…
Even worse when you see the title and think the OP thought of everything for this deal, and only then twigging at the bottom of the thread that gas heaters don't need an extension cable.
Looks good if you have a table with hole in it.
I don't get it.
How do you do it if the heater is roughly as tall as the table?
Do you put something underneath the heater?
I think the idea is to run the hose to the gas bottle
What if someone kicks over the gas bottle?
What if someone kicks over the gas heater? Life is full of what ifs…
Sit the bottle in a crate would be my first thought though if you were worried about it.
Anyone got a photo of their setup?
can these be made to be free standing?
yes, it is freestanding heater. its only approx 3 feet tall, so you need to keep it on table.
The base is designed for the hose to go through a hole in a table underneat it, e.g. if it was on flat ground it would lean unless you trimmed a side exit hole in the base's thin metal.
Got it, heater looks pretty nice on the table but doesn't aggressively push heat especially with this wind and cold, but it'll be good once the wind settles down.
I'd really suggest putting it on something the height of a coffee table as opposed to an actual table.
no click and collect for gregory hills or hoxton park
Picked one up today from Cranbourne. Easy to set up. Sits perfectly on my outdoor table which had a hole in the middle already. Using a 3.7kg gas tank which is located and tucked away under the table.
Gives off decent heat however pretty windy in Melbourne so I'll test it out again when it's calmer. I purchased it more for nights in spring/Autumn when it cools down at night as opposed to actually using it in winter (way too cold).
Great value for its price!
Looks gooderer if you have the price in the title.
