Pfffffffffffffft, trust me people - thailand is incredibly cheap. You can live in absolute luxury for 1.5k in a week. This deal is terrible

*To the down vote, please buy this package, its a great deal and you should totally go for it

    • +3

      The down vote is me.

I stay in sub $30/night places.

But this package would normally be $10k. I ain't gonna buy it but it's a good deal for the kind of people who do buy this sort of thing.

      • -5

I like to help by providing a bigger picture, if people are looking for luxury in thailand they can do all this for a piece of that price, and I mean Luxury - beachside in koh samui etc.

Not an ozbargain in my eyes

        • +8

And I absolutely get the "it's not for me" argument. 'cause it's not for me.

But this is much cheaper than you can get this. You have provided no reasons for me to think otherwise.

        • -4

          @tantryl:

What do you mean 'its not for me' argument.. its clearly a 'this is a rort' argument

        • +4

@Truthbe: so link to an equivalent offer. It's easy to settle.

I, personally, don't care for massive resorts with appartment sized rooms in the middle of the luxury hotel district with many on site restaurants. But Conrad Bangkok + Ko Samui for 8 nights is going to cost you over $10k in most circumstances. So what - specifically - do you think is an equivalent but better priced option?

        • +7

          @Truthbe: It's like you didn't read a word I said.

I wouldn't stay here and I'm not asking you for this exact hotel.

        • +5

Do you have a link for these places that you would recommend for similar luxury at 1.5k for a week?

    • +1

While I'd ordinarily agree with you, Conrad is ridiculously priced. I just checked it out on Hotels.com for a random 5 day period next April and got quoted $6400.

So it's a bit of a bargain IF you are the type who wants to spend their money at a place like Conrad and there's plenty of them considering the place stays open.

      "Appropriate uses of negative vote
      Cheaper price elsewhere
Mention store or URL and price making sure to include shipping."

      "Inappropriate uses of negative vote
Any negative vote that falls into any of these reasons will be revoked by a moderator. Negative votes for any other reason will not be removed by a moderator.
      No explanation of the vote
      “Not a bargain.”"

Not trying to troll Truthbe, but you're not offering anything in return for your negative vote. Please feel free to post an equivalent deal (major international hotel chain) for a cheaper price.

    $4000 vacation in Thailand….. wtf??

  • I just stayed 3 nights in Buriram.
Hotel $16 per night including brekky (nett cost Agoda). Flew Airasia Dmk - Buriram approx $18 RETURN.
So $66 for 3 night trip. Plus return Airport transfers $18.
    2 massages from a 1 legged lady 500thb ($20) including 200thb tip.
    Big bottles of beer 80 - 150thb ~ $3-6.
Had a ball, and a great cultural experience.

    • -1

      Any LB massage included?

    • So nothing like the conrad then?

    • +1

I detect that '1 legged lady' is a euphemism, but I'm not sure for what.

Many of you are comparing a Lamborghini with a used Corolla.
This is LUXURY. Secluded at around an hr away from Chaweng but the level of service and the amenities won't be found at $50, $100 or even $250 a night hotels.
Granted, it's probably not going to suit people looking for a cheap bargain vacation but this Conrad package is pretty good for those looking for a high end vacation.

Based on all the neg votes on your comments, I wonder when you'll realise YOU have no idea what you're talking about.

        • +3

        High end bargain :)

  • +6

    $3999. One cocktail per night

    What!?!?!

  • +4

I assume the people above have not even visited, let alone stayed at the Conrad at koh samui.

It is nothing like the 'hotels' at Chaweng. It's a secluded resort pitched high on the cliff tops with views that can't be found anywhere else on the island.

From memory the rooms were about 1k per night so it's already a saving. Once you include the meals and spa treatments then it's definitely excellent value.

    • Prefer the intercontinental to the Conrad. Same 5* star luxury but cheaper unless you want the private villas.

  • +2

There are high-end vacationers using ozbargain?

    • +6

Yes, we come here to read the plebs squabble over a mere $.

    • +2

I do from time to time. I'll shell out on a high end resort but will fly on $200 return flights. Value doesn't always mean cheaper.

  • +3

$4k to stay at a place without access to a beach?

  • +2

    Lol what a rip!
