Personal preference, but really doesn't interest me. I think with travel being so cheap these days people prefer to choose where they are going and book their own hotels, or maybe thats just me.

You can go to NZ for cheaper than that, with accommodation (and take advantage of GST Refund on the way out).

Mystery flights were fine when when airfares were sky high.
These days I'd rather pay for something where there outcome is known. That is, it's cheap enough to fly to your selected destination rather than a mystery one.
