Bought one of these over the weekend for $3600.
Great model, amazing quality, no issues, awesome Android TV inbuilt you can't go wrong.
Looks like they are having a quick sale today grab it while you can!

Agree. Look around for the now cheaper 850c model which has local dimming.
I own the 65X850C, excellent TV by all means - but no local dimming. Panel is lit from the back - yes, but the individual diodes cannot dim independently.
Apologies. I have the 75 inch which must be slightly different.
I've got the 75 and it doesn't do local dimming. In fact none of the panels in the series support local dimming
@xenoic:
Lol ignore me. The 850c 65 and 75 were full array backlit. 55 was edge lit only, As are the new series.
8500C was $2K (on sale) when I bought it
No bad
I also bought this for $3600. Pretty good picture. Sound is horrible, so get an external setup.
Connecting harddrives and browsing is messy.
Edit: When I say horrible sound, purely my opinion. Lacks bass. Distorts when you crank the volume. Sounds tinny at times.
What do you mean it's messy when connecting hard drives?
I mean browsing the harddrives directory. It has a hard time keeping the directory tree in tact.
It just lists all of the folders alphabetically. If you have many TV shows it will list all the of the 'season 1' and then all of the 'season 2' with no real way of knowing which show each season is from.
I ended up downloading a different app from the play store to browse the files.
I think all thin panel TVs have terrible sound.
You can't defy physics, to get decent bass, you need a larger enclosure for the speaker to work properly. As you make TVs thinner and thinner, sound becomes worst especially as the sound is facing the back, not so much of an issue for bass but for treble.
Mine's connected to a Logitech THX 5.1 system through Optical and it sounds like I'm in the movies :)
Bring back plasma :(
It's not going to happen now Panasonic (the last decent manufacturer) has stopped making plasmas.
I agree with you.
I have a 6 year old 65inch Panasonic Plasma. Hopefully it won't die as every LCD/LED TV looks artificial compared to my plasma.
Bring on more mature OLED panels.
I dont think sony have any yet?
@lowndes8: Sony have professional OLED displays, but they showed off what they call "Backlight Master Drive" at CES this year which is meant to bring their LCD technology in line with OLED for colour and brightness. If they can deliver, it will be pretty incredible, but I will believe it when I see it.
Agree, I still use my old 42" Panasonic plasma. Looking for a new TV now had no idea they'd discontinued plasmas. Did a bit of googling about why, and it's pretty depressing.
Pioneer made the best plasma tv ever
Bought my KDX7500C for $3400 during the boxing day sale last year.
In fact, it was $3200 after the Amex rebate ;)
Of course I could have taken it out of Australia for the TRS (another $340 off) but I can't fit it in the taxi.
KD65X8500D is an IPS panel, the KD65X8500C is much better according to all the reading I've done.
I was at Good Guys a few weekends back, and some stores still have the KD65X8500C available. I'd suggest looking at that model instead, for which you can get for about $2800 in store according to the Sales rep I spoke to.
