Chinglish error?
also worth mentioning these are pre-owned units with a presumably near worthless "guarantee" (almost certainly won't be from Apple).
I suspect alot of the "new" phones sold online are used.
Been to Hong Kong, Singapore and China. Alot of people trade in their old phones in shops (probably a few months old). The funny thing is that I rarely see many used phone on sale. So… I wonder where they all went.
My suspicion grows strong as some old models are advertised as "new". If the manufacturers haven't been making those phones for some time, then where do sellers source their stock? (not reference to iPhone 5S, just in general).
Having been to Malaysia, yes, the practice of selling old electronics that have been refurbished and reboxed and then sold as new is very common.
The vast majority are computer parts and laptops.
@scrimshaw: selling old thing as new?? the seller really has no shame for the sake of money only
@brongz: when is Asia, there is no shame!!!
@genes888: which asian are you talking about?? there are so many ethnics in asia. japanese, local malay i believe won't behave like this
slightly poorer, 3rd world basket case countries like Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Phillipines
Business practices in Vietnam can be dodgy. Expats living there have to get used to the idea of bribery to make a business.
Myanmar? Where do I start… human trafficking, sex trade and all kinds of illegal activities.
I'm sure japan will have some corruption as well, but they rank in the top 10 as the least corrupt nations in the world.

Don't mention the (Google v Apple) war!
Wow, a 3 year old 2nd hand phone for $340. iDontcallthatabargain.
Wow, someone's quick with the old neg'.
So, quickdraw, I'm all ears on how this is is any kind of deal against say a new Nexus 5X - a great phone just months old (OK, 'only' 32GB) - which can be had for the price of a couple of coffees more.
Optus has the iPhone 5S 16GB for $399. Granted it's only 16GB and not 64 but it's brand new and has local Australian warranty. Unlocked too.
Used should be in title.
grey market used phone with no warranty
no abn and non Australian company
good luck not if but when you get a problem
USED
Yes this would be an old phone with refurbished factor (actually used). wont buy for this proce
Oh ffs it's used
AliExpress? Something tells me these will be locked out if you ever try to reset them.
I purchased an iPhone 5c a year back. Arrived in original packaging in complete brand new condition. It operates completely normal to this day and have had no problems. Also, the 5S can be had for around $250 on aliexpress, just need to wait for the sales. This deal isn't all bad..
playing fast and loose with the OEM term, are we?
