Woolworths Mobile $30 Pre-Paid Starter Pack for $1 + $2 Delivery, New Activations Get 6GB Data (Online Only)

4310

I've never used Woolies Mobile, but I think $29 off a $30 starter pack is good value. $2 delivery for SIM packs, maximum 2 packs per order.

Bonus: new activations before 30 June get 6GB data (normally 2GB + current bonus 1GB) — details here

According to their Coverage page Woolies "uses parts of Telstra's 4G and 3G mobile networks".

Finishes 31 May, thanks @Sydney and @Obey

Updated:
1. Deal end date
2. Online only
3. Delivery charge and max units per order
4. Added URL to how to get 6GB bonus
5. Clarifying 2GB data is normal for $30 recharge, additional 1GB data is a current bonus
6. Learning that I missed a lot of useful details!

The starter pack has to be activated within 3 months of purchase. thanks Sydney11

  • Bought two! worth checking OZB this morning!! back-up internet connection sorted, moving house, wont get fixed internet installed for….a while.. this will do me just fine, sorry not sorry telstra !

  • Has anyone checked in store yet? I would but QLD trading laws don't allow them to open until 9am Sunday's.

  • +2

Can anyone confirm these are in-store? I can just see it now, all the local tight-arses in my area cleaning these out as we speak….

  • -2

are they resellers of the Telstra Network? LOL it might a ploy to get customers back to them LOL

  • +1

Thanks op ordered 2. I will try to get more instore if same price. There is a limit of 2 which is fair enough.

  • Thanks OP ordered 2, anyone checked in store yet?

    • +7

Yeah. In VIC regional store at moment. Only have $45 packs with 30% off instore special only 😢

At least I got to use their free wifi® to post this.

  • +7

Just called up 2 stores in Melbourne and both have confirmed it's online only and scanning up at $30 instore.

  • +5

Not available in store.. checked this morning in Vic.

  • Once activated what's the longest this credit can last for? Is there a 'longlife' option like Telstra? (Sorry to ask but can't access their site right now)

  • +1

    nice, thanks for sharing OP

  • This comes with 3GB data. It's not 2GB as mentioned by OP.
    https://www.whistleout.com.au/MobilePhones/Carriers/Woolworths/Personal/Woolworths-Prepaid-$30-Starter-Pack

  • would be interesting to know the expiry on these things

  • +2

^ Bonus data available when you apply a $30 or $45 recharge before 30 June 2016. 30 day credit expiry.

Doesn't this mean you have to recharge FIRST before getting the bonus data?
Also, does anyone know how long without credit you can go before you lose your number on Woolworths mobile?

    • +2

Dang! Where were you at 1am this morning?

      • Regarding the first part of my comment, I think it's more in relation tot he people who buy the $2 SIM only packs.

    • +3

      T&C say " purchase and activate a $30 starter pack OR a $2 SIM with a $30 recharge to get 6GB"

      • Found the part about when my number will expire if don't recharge.

180 days after the recharge expiry date, your service will be terminated.

  • Ordered 2. Thanks OP. Cheap data for my teenage kids!

  • Grabbed 2 thanks

  • Anyone stockpiling these?

  • Bugger so can we confirm it is now just 3GB per pack without a $30 recharge? I just got two 30 secs ago thinking I was getting 6Gb per SIM so it would be good for the rest to know…

    • I'm still happy with 6Gb for $4 if that's what it is.

      • Good point I guess I was just being greedy

  • Just ordered 2 thanks. Do you think I can go back and order more?

    • Wondering the same but scared they might cancel orders as limit of 2

      • It says "Maximum order of 2 Woolworths Mobile pre-paid SIM Packs per order." I couldn't see any other limit of 2.

    • Sims must be activated within 3 months.

    • Just ordered 4. No problems.

  • Even if it's only 3GB per, 6GB for $4 will do me just fine.

  • +1

    Nope

    Your products have been removed

    Voodoo ahhhhhh run away!!!

  • Has this deal been osbargained?

Error while processing the transaction please contact Support Team

    • Double check your CC number. I got this when I mistyped one digit.

  • Dead here too

They'll probably try to weasel out of honoring it too

    • -3

They chose to offer the deal and can easily wear the cost of the promotion, WW are mammoth.

It would cause them irreparable damage in reputation and customer base to go soft and withdraw on this deal.

      • +3

irreparable damage in reputation and customer base to go soft and withdraw on this deal.

        no, wouldnt even come close.

      • +2

        WW's reputation can get worse??

  • Looks like i just got in! Thanks OP :)

  • +1

  • Except for 1 month of awesome 6gb data, is Woolworths pre paid better than Aldi?

  • works here, just got two

  • Still active, thanks OP

  • Thanks OP, just got 2.

  • +3

Just ordered 2, checked the order and my address had changed. Contacted online support and there's currently an issue with their system.Better check your delivery addresses!!

    • Mine changed too. Did the Online Support manually update your delivery address for you?

      • +1

Said they would give me a call later to confirm the address has been updated.

        • +3

My Unit number is missing in the email.Dang !!

        • +5

          @techno2000:
          All Good.

"Thank you for contacting Woolworths Mobile, We are aware of the technical error that is misplacing our customers residential address I.e Unit Number, we can confirm that your address is correct on our systems and your Sim Card will be posted to your within 3-5 business days. Is their anything else i can assist you with today?"

        • @techno2000: Oh good, thanks for clearing that up for us, I had the same problem. It did show the unit number when autocompleting, so I assume the error was not displaying it in the email.

My order number was 4 thousand something. I guess this low number and the IT issues mean that they haven't had much business. I always said their product was underwhelming despite the free advertising they get in Woolies supermarkets.

  • Awesome just got two. Good thing my work laptop takes sim cards too.

    • Be careful with that, corporates like to push windows updates thru and sometimes that can chew data. Last time I hooked up my phone 4gig was swallowed due to that.

      • Also be careful that windows 10 automatically uses YOUR bandwidth to send updates to OTHER PEOPLES computers. FFS!! You have to dig around in the settings to turn that off

        • I see microshaft have fallen on hard times using other people's bandwidth

      • I thought that was a feature, allowing devices on my LAN to share, instead of downloading the same update 8 times.
Any evidence of Win-10 doing such an upload over ADSL, or are you just scared by past experience with MS?

        • See for yourself.

Go settings -> update and security -> updates -> advanced -> choose how updates are delivered

By default it is "local network and pcs on the internet"
You need to change it to "local network"

        • @justtoreply:

Sure, I turned that off on install, along with all the other privacy related ones.

But are you just assuming it uploads over low-bandwidth home connections, or have you actually seen it? What saturation?

        • @manic:

I dont sit there monitoring it. Why would I? Turn it off and forget about it.

        • -1

          @justtoreply:
But instead you came here and ranted in ALL CAPS that it actually happens.

        • @manic:

Not all caps. And its a warning to let others know to disable the setting, yeesh.

  • Thank you!

  • interested in taking this on for the 6GB data next month,
maybe i missed it although I can't see where it says new activations receive 6GB on that page?

Here's how to get more data!

      1. Simply purchase and activate a $30 starter pack or ………………………

      2. Activate by 30th June 2016.

      • Sweet, thanks! - Can't believe that went right over me lol!

I've got a couple spare phones so will grab 2 sims today :)

  • Anyone tried making more than one transaction in the same name and address?

    • Here's waiting you would

      • Just did, but used a different card and my christian name. Will see if it goes through tmr

  • +1

Op you should change title saying $3 dollars delivered or 2 for $4 and 3gb after end of June. Still a hell of a deal even if you only get 3gb of data. Amazing stuff, will probably pop it in my Samsung tab s. Thanks op

  • all ok, bought 2, ^_^

  • Called my local, they don't have any. I've already ordered 2 but wondering if I should call around the area or order 2 more online hmmm

    • someone has confirmed that this is purely online.

      • oh thank you!! I must have missed that in the comments. Ordered another 2 :)

        • These apparently have a 3 month expiry date

        • @nightelves: yep saw the screenshot someone posted, going to share them around.

    • They must be activated within 3 months. So be data heavy (multiple per month or have friends to use them as well.

      • For another $4 I'm taking the risk and hoping they don't expire in 3 months.

This price is the monthly churner's dream!

  • Just bought 2. Thank you OP.

  • Thanks OP

  • Awesome! Thanks, OP!!

  • Can these be used in ipads for the data only?

  • "Oops! Looks like something weren't wrong"

    • Could order fine on my PC, just not on ipad.

  • Guys, make sure you do NOT use Safari as the form has a bug for it. Use Chrome instead.

  • +1

Thanks OP. My Amaysims from last year are just about to run out so this is perfect timing.

    • Me too!

  • Thanks OP. Cheap as chips.

Bought 10. For brother, sister, in laws, grandpa, grandma, neighbour, neighbour's dog, cat.

    • +5

Dog and cat can make free calls to each other then.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Got 2 for Data to chuck in my laptop sim port for next 2 months

BTW i have a Woolworths SIM at home and expiry date is Mid 2017, just saying. Maybe that 3 months activation is not true

    • According to the screenshot on page one, this deal goes for 2 weeks so by then, we should have the starter kits and will know the expiry. Just hope it doesn't get ozbargaind before we receive them :)

      • +1

I don't think it will go for 2 weeks and I don't think they will expire in 3 months. I think Christopher and Nadia are the same person using different identities depending on whether they're working at Harvey Norman or Woolworths Mobile:
