  • Are bands B7 and B20 important in Australia? What are the missing Aussie bands that this phone doesn't support?

    • +2

I just copied what description they had actually
      According to http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_frequencies
I'd say Band 20 is not important at all. And band 7 not so much…

LTE Bands In Use in Australia
Band 1 = 2100MHz (used by Telstra, Optus, Vodafone refarmed 3G spectrum)
Band 3 = 1800MHz (used by Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, ex 2G spectrum)
Band 5 = 850MHz (used by Vodafone, refarmed 3G spectrum)
Band 7 = 2600MHz (used by Telstra, Optus)
Band 8 = 900MHz (used by Telstra, refarmed 2G spectrum)
Band 28 = 700MHz (used by Telstra, Optus, ex Analogue TV spectrum)
      Band 40 = 2300MHz (used by Optus)

I edited description so that it shows just supported bands

      • I also saw that foreum while searching but was written poorly. If they presented the information as a table, communication would have been more accurate. Or even better, summarised as 36 out of 38 bands supported; 2 of 38 bands missing, which are important/unimportant because of reason. So your reply is quite informative and helpful, thank you. Your deal is quite good value, better value than the Asus Zenfone 2

      • +1

        band 7 is important

      • Yes I just checked, B7 2600MHz is important, but B20 800MHz is unused

Updating the missing important bands in the OP is needed.

  • Their German is horrible. Anyone ever ordered from them?

    • +1

Well, their English is horrible too, but that's old news.

    • I did about 1.5 years ago… Received no issues, got my cashback as well

  • Looks like 4G wouldn't work that well here in Australia unless you're on Vodafone, but at least 1800mhz will give you (potentially congested) 4G in most major towns…

    • it's not potentially congested ….. it's definitely congested. doesn't get helped either with cheaper data share sims and people using them in tablets and so making data consumption more pleasant rather then on a small screen.

wish there was a way to turn off 1800 on my phone and use 700 as the default …. 700 on my modem does like a rocket. ….. also my phone when it locks to 700

  • According to eng version of their site there's just 43 left and about 18 hours (might be not relevant to the german site though)

  • I haven't examined the frequencies in any sort of detail. I also crap on almost any phone 'bargain' posted on here. This is only about $10-15AUD below best market price but in saying that, it's a pretty extra-ordinary phone on paper. Even the Antutu is brilliant for the price point!

I'm not getting one (for various reasons) but you shouldn't be disappointed at all if you do.

    • Where's the best market price?

      • Here, it's $15 or so below the best elsewhere. So it's a damn good deal!

  • Wouldn't you just buy an LG G3? Or Xiaomi RedMi/etc? Not knocking these, I don't know anything about the brand, but seems like a random choice given the not so cheap price…

    • What is a better value price for those specs?

      • Fair call, the 4Gb RAM would be nice.

Curious as to whether the screen calibration, camera module and Android optimisation are up to scratch?
