i think the 1080i refers to the HDTV free to air signal input and the inbuild decoder… which is the highest resolution for TV broadcast at the moment for most Australian channels (last time i checked)
Why it says "Full HD" but with 1080i only????That's a cheating from JB
It may be an omission, the specs also say the resolution is 1920x1080.
The "i" and "p" in the 1080 refer to interlaced or progressive, they are both a 1080 resolution thus the tv having a 1920x1080 resolution is correct but everyones pointing out this big difference with that little letter at the end.
for the record in case you are wondering, progressive is better, ALOT better.
wrong! 1080i resolution doesn't have 1080 it only draws half the lines each frame hence only needs half the pixles!
most 1080i sets are 720!
@wisc: In fact, 1080i draws all the lines in each frame, but in two interlaced fields. In order to correctly render 1080i, you still need a display with 1080 vertical lines; anything else is some form of scaling.
And anyway, the television in question is capable of displaying a directly-input 1080p signal.
no…
Compatible HDTV Input Signal(s) 576p, 720p, 1080i
word of note in that sentance is > HDTV < input singlal…there is no higher than 1080i.TV is only 1080i so it can display it, if you look at the vertical and horizontal lines its full hd, also

Video Signal 480i/480p (60Hz), 576i/576p (50Hz), 720p (50/60Hz), 1080i (50/60Hz), 1080p (50/60Hz)(through HDMI input)
As wisc says, it's just a little ambiguous in how it's presented. It is a full hd set, but obviously you're not going to be receiving 1080p on FTA channels anyway (I think most broadcast in 720 or 1080i, but I'm sure someone can clarify).
So — no "cheating from JB", just a little ambiguous. The set is FHD.
yep,
TV HD signals are 1080i (so your HD channels) (minimum is apparently 576p)
all other channels are SD 576i1080P is full HD progressive scans rather than interlaced
couple years old but still good info.

Im not a fan of Toshiba LCDs, i've had a number of friends whom have had troubles with them
Nice price.
no 1080p - 1080i only
There are many factors for a good image, but wouldn't a 1080p tv be preferable ?
Spec's say 1 HDMI, contradicting features showing 2 HDMI. Can't find it on the Toshiba site, so don't know what other inputs are.
