I had this for a couple of years before I stopped riding - it's a decent armour for the price.

That's cheap for a batman suit!

      Shhh, "spelunking", remember…

Bahahah! I clicked on the link just to make this comment.

  • anyone use something like this for snowsports? I wrapped my back around a tree at speed last time thinking something like this wouldn't be a bad idea

I normally wear a backpack with avalanche gear and drink system which gives me the back protection I need.
There are probably better versions with soft padding which goes hard on impact.
This one might be better for your needs. I have the long sleeve version of this for MTB enduro and lift access MTB Park. It is great as not too bulky and not too warm or restrictive http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/au/en/troy-lee-des…

  • Do I have to own a bike to buy this ? (want it so bad)

Nope. Spray some paint on it. Use it as part of your vigilante armour.

Nope. Spray some pinstripes & a tie on it. Use it as part of your business suit.

        Fixed! :)

I would wear that. I would wear that so hard.

Wear a shirt over this; every time you find a Telstra phone box (if there is one), go in there, rip your shirt off and be a new superhero: Ballman

Another recommendation if you want something lighter. I got one on sale for $120 a couple months back. Give it another month and they will be on sale again

Is this what the new guys on The Walking Dead were wearing in the season finale?

    • Oooh yeah. I'm storing this bad boy in the cupboard, ready for the zombie apocalypse.

Is it CE certified? If not I wouldn't trust it on anything but a kids tricycle.

    • totally agree. nothing on the page to indicate that it's CE.

with that said, I wear a CE certified version of this during summer for commuting and the only issue I occassionally have is when i do a head-check and my shoulder is raised higher than usual the chin on my helmet hits the armour.
could just be me and my weird body shape, or it could be that the one that I have has bigger shoulder armour…
