    Shop in title bud.

  • Bought one yesterday with Click and Collect. Cover is on sale for $99. Looks like a decent fridge for the price.

Could you put a torch inside and see if any light leaks in the dark

  • +2

Definitely good value. Ordered the 30L, which also comes with a free A/C adaptor, a couple of days ago, hopefully it's reliable.

  • +1

Would you use these as your regular esky, take it fishing / park for kids party etc? Or best to use a basic esky for that?

    • +5

The compressor adds extra weight and you have to take care of it a little bit. You can power them from the car or an external LifePo battery back.

It’s really good for multi-day camping trips. You can even keep ice cream. Bit overkill for a 1 day event. Just a regular eski with items pre-cooled and ice is enough.

    • +5

Best to use basic esky for that. These are too heavy to be carting around, plus you'd need to cart a battery with it. These are really designed for multi-day camping, an extra fridge / freezer for Christmas or maybe if you've got a long commute between your farm and shopping center to keep your groceries cold.

    • +3

These are good for keeping cold things cold. Not throwing warm stuff and expecting them to cool in an hour. Esky is better for day stuff like that

      • Not saying you are wrong, but as long as fridge/freezer is on and really cold, preferably already fairly

filled up already with cold or frozen stuff (even empty water bottles), I find my Brass Monkey 75 Lt

dual zone can get most food/drinks cold really quickly. I travel mostly full time in my van, so this is

what I do when shopping or putting a warm 6 pack of canns in the evening, by the morning they are as

cold as the rest, between 3 C-5 C depending on setting and temperatures. I don't use freezer much, but

although not as quick as set on fridge, the freezer should freeze fish etc overninght if put in bottom I imagine.

Solid warm big items over 2 lt. would take longer than an hour to cool, but I buy a lot of those solad/coleslaw

bags and they cool in minutes and stay good for up to a week.

  • Paid the same a about 3 yrs ago for a Koolmate 55 from Supercheap Auto ,,, was supposed to be a special price … it died after being used as a backup freezer for most of that time, if only I wasn't broke!

    • That's a shame. How many years did you get out of it? Was it on most of the time as freezer? Warranty, or out?

      • +1

3yrs, when I say back up, the thing was my only refrigeration while I was saving up to upgrade the batteries and it was a freezer run at it's minimum setting of -18 that whole time, have installed new/second Trina hand panels I bought a few years ago and finished upgrading my off-grid solar system, I now have enough battery storage and big enough good quality inverter to run a decent size AC fridge for 3 days during heavy rain before needing the genny.

        1yr warranty.

Had one of those cheap Glacio upright 12/24v volt fridges you can get online, that struggled and lasted about 2 yrs.

        • Thanks for detailed and informative reply.

Bonus 240V Adaptor with any DUNE 4WD Frontier 80L Single Zone Fridge/Freezer Purchased. So does this mean the adapter is not included with this dual zone fridge?

    • +3

It applies to this fridge. I added the fridge from the OP link to the cart, and the AC adaptor was auto added.

All the Dune Frontier series fridges are currently half price and come with a bonus 240V AC adaptor with this promo.

    • Comes standard with just a 12/24v DC cable.

Edit: reread your comment. I think it's a mistake and should still come with it.

    • +1

12v cigarette lighter plug included inside the fridge. Nothing else. This is the exact cable that is included inside the fridge: https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/fridges-cooler…

Or buy this to connect directly to solar panel

        https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/fridges-cooler…

        • +2

You can't connect fridges direct to solar, it needs a battery between solar and fridge.

          • @gtech: Most portables panels have MPPT controllers attached already, mine has one

            • +3

@easternculture: @easternculture pretty sure it still won't work mppt smooths out voltage fluctuations but won't output constant. You need a battery even if it's a small one. Don't forget that your fridge will cycle and most likely will solar (clouds, etc).

  • How it compare to those 40-60% Monkey deals at Jaycar?

    • Also curious.

    • I wouldn’t be surprised if these come out of the same factory. There’s a bunch of brands now that all look very similar designs and specs

    • brass monkey are attrocious fridges! the kings ones aren't too bad

    • Dune is better, but in saying that i got one of the 30L Rovin for $169 which are a rebranded Monkey and it's worked flawlessly for years almost daily. No issues with the app for setting and monitoring the temp. They also take a 15mAh battery.

But this is pretty good value.

      • +1

Haha, I still have one of those new in storage as a back up from that deal. Both my Big W half price $249

Campmaster https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/415946 which I used full time for 2 1/2 years through

rough hot conditions, and now my 75 lt Brass Monkey I got for $200 on fb marketplace second hand now in full

time hard use for 10 months both refuse to die lol.

        • +1

lol you know what's so funny, i got that exact same Big W deal and flipped it a few years later (it may of been for the same or $50 more than i paid) because i wanted a bigger fridge.

So got the bigger Waeco on another OzB deal, it lives in the 4wd then needed a smaller one for the daily driver and got the Rovin for $169 on this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/715006

I blame this place for so many things. :)

          • @LowRange: Me too. But if you control your spending, you can get some great bargains, whether you need them or not lol.

  • +1

Grabbed one. Cheers. In store ticket said $499.
    Got the last AC plug.

  • What brand of compressor does this use? Or is it just a no name?

  • These things probably chew power, if you're just someone doing a weekender you won't need anything close to this size

    • Not as much as you think, had some of my guys use them on bush trips on Bluetti batteries - consumes 7A @ 12V so about 85W

      Good quality for the price.

  • I've already got an 80-85Litre, which is mint for long trips. But too much bulk for daily driver. The 20L is mighty tempting

    https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/fridges-cooler…

  • "80L capacity, fits up to 102 cans"

I like the sound of that!

  • their website is down?

  • Is this brand any better than Kings? I have the 75L Kings brand but might need an extra one soon.

    • +1

Not a fan of Kings AT ALL … had pathetic customer service from them and their stuff has contributed to landfill far to often for me! even when carefully cared for.

If you watch the camping forums people are saying to get the kings fridges to work well enough they are adding an extra 12v fan to them to help cool the compressor and condenser coil …. buy at your own risk!

  • keep getting error when trying to check out… will have to go to store.

    • +1

Yeah the check out was very buggy , tried on phone and 2 different browser . Make sure you only check out the item you want , some how I manage to add 2 cooler but the price is only for one and it keeps have internal errors 🥴🥴

  • Bought the 30L. Should fit nicely in the boot of my mazda while still being able to open the fridge door.

This ia going to be saving me heaps on food while im out and about since it will be continously running via my $270 1Kw Mitre 10 power station and $99 200watt SCA solar blanket

    Also used $10 off $50
