Thanks for the amazing deal, OP, have a great day!

  • Anyone know internal and external dimenaions, warranty, voltage cutoff? Googled it and only hit was bigw as expected. Is it a clone of something?

  • yeah I'm keen to know as well cause its a cracking price for a fridge.

  • +3

That looks near identical to my Stirling fridge from Aldi which hasn't missed a beat… and is $150 cheaper than I paid

    • That looks near identical to my Stirling fridge from Aldi

Possibly is identical, one of those items all made in same factory to identical specs, then different brand labels put on later.
I purchased TV years ago from aldi, returned it to exchange due to fault, given same tv exactly, but different brand label.

  • Apparently the compressor is a SECOP (DANFOSS) and the fridges campmaster brand are a rebadged snowmaster which is a reputable south african brand,

the compressors are quite good for the money.

  • warranty?

  • Purchase Cashrewards Woolworths Gift card with 5% off, effectively makes this price $236.55

    • +1

You would hope they arrive instantly cause this won’t last long.

    • "Gift Cards cannot currently be redeemed at BIG W online", when looked into this further.

      • and i just bought one! let me try…

        • could be a while.

Your order is being processed and will be distributed shortly.
Please allow up to 48 hours for delivery of eGift Cards.

      • Just bought one with a wish giftcard I bought a few days ago. Have received an order confirmation.

      • I have just bought one using gift cards - does that mean it won't be honoured? - I always have at least $500 worth of gift cards on hand ;)

  • +2

Not sure who the original manufacturer is (Primus?), however it also manifests as:
    Waeco CF40
    Adventure Kings 45L camping fridge
    Aldi 40L

TL;DR - good product for the money. Keep at least 12.0 volts to it with a decent connection and it should last a long time.

    • +6

Change the sticker to Adventure Kings, and you straight away gain 5L in capacity!

      • +1

        Adventure Kings does look different.
        Aldi looks the same however.
Is this one 240V like the Aldi one?

  • +1

Thanks OP, picked one up. Even better with another 10% off with Staff Discount :)

  • Thanks OP, perfect timing, picked one up

  • Wifes Tucson has a 12v in the back of the vehicle, would this be an overkill for it? Would just use it for day trips or times when we get groceries.

    • +1

      Would be fine

      • Cheers bought. Worst case chuck it in the lux.

        • +2

Would it be overkill? Probably yes.

Should you get it? Probably yes.

  • +1

    Cheers OP … order placed.

  • +1

thanks so much! screamer of a deal.

  • Buy on 28 degrees etc as 10% off is coming up this weekend..

    • Weekend offer is a promo code family/friends they won’t reimburse

    • This ends tomorrow

  • Amazing price thanks op, got one

  • +1

almost as cheap as a top end esky

  • +2

I already had 3 working portable 12v fridges. A Bushman, A Sidewinder and a waeco 20L.. Now I have another. I cant seem to stop. I need to go to fridges anonymous.

    • +12

      Whoa, chill out

      • Be cool man

  • Geeeeeze that's cheap. I paid about double for the aldi version.

  • Great deal! Was looking at a larger fridge but can't pass this one up at this price. Thanks OP

  • How can I use this at home?

    • +1

There should also be a AC 240V power cord to be plugged into main power point.

    • If you want something for home, can easy find a bar fridge for $50 or less on gumtree. I even see plenty of full size fridges for free, or about $50 on gumtree. It's a bulky item and hard to sell, so it's certainly a buyers market IMO.

      • +1

All true but that's not the point. It's always a great benefit to be able to chill the fridge at home before loading it with food.

For those with a fridge powered by 12v only, you might like to buy a 240v AC to 12v DC transformer.

        • +2

That's the recommended way to use the fridge to make sure it is cold before you place it in the car and start driving.
Another good idea is to use a towel if its only half full. Place the towel on your food and it stops bulk hot air entering your fridge every time you open it.

    Just got one.

Plan to get another if my wish card ever comes through. If it doesn't come in time i will see if they can refund me the price in store, then repurchase with my wish gift card.

    • these prices are online only which means they scan at $500 inshore

      • maybe they can manually type it in if you let them know.

    • Those bloody things take ages.

      • yep still waiting. now i have a 249 card that i will struggle to use…

had to order as it was running out of stock around me, now SA wide mostly gone.

        • I did the same. However my receipt came through but no gift card yet. I actually noticed the gift card website says can't currently be used online, which i'm pretty sure it didn't say earlier.

If so i will phone woolies for a gift card refund as i bought it specifically for online use.

          • @KRM123: my card came in 8mins after i ordered the 2nd. so yeah, useless timing.

spose i can use it for other stuff.

    • Plan to get another if my wish card ever comes through. If it doesn't come in time i will see if they can refund me the price in store, then repurchase with my wish gift card.

      great minds think alike

  • Can you plug this into normal power socket as a spare fridge in the home if needed?

    • same question, doesn't look like

      • +2

Looks exactly the same as the aldi one. In which case you get a 240v plug. If it doesn't come with the plug you can probably buy one for a few bucks.

        • +4

I've just found a 40L campmaster online that someone is selling and it defo has 240V.

It's also the same as the ironman 40L one and again it also has 240V

  • Do you think this is a good idea to have in a Mazda 3 for after those long bush walks? Will it just be a normal cigarette lighter power source?

    • +4

With any car fridge/freezer best to be running separate solar/deep cycle battery system.

      • +1

^ This. Also, maybe connect phone charger to each socket in the car, see if/what ones stay alive while car off.

A legend of a mate lent me his 4WD and full setup. He set the waeco temp dial exactly, said don’t mess with it. I forgot*, and woke up to a flat battery. TWICE.

        *46deg, fridge was struggling.

        • I think maybe I'll turn it off when we're gone, i'm sure it will still stay cold after a couple of hours in there. After pay makes this SO worth it, got one now. Cheers OP, Yoga and Bladerunner

        • Most waeco's have a low voltage setting which should stop this happening.

    • Depends how long the bushwalk is and whether you keep the fridge powered while you are on the bushwalk and how hot it is outside.

    • Hi Mate,
It will be ok, I'm pretty sure that Mazda 3's turns off its power to the cabin when the engine is not running.
So the fridge will not run if the car is not running. It will only turn on when you put the key in the ignition.
(either way, I recommend that you unplug it as these fridges require a few amps to start off which may be an issue on an old battery)
So forgetting to unplug it is not an issue.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, just bought one.

I'm assuming it has 240V mains plug also.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought one

  • +2

bought one, redeemed woolworths points and used egift cards.
    Thanks a lot

  • +2

aldi have their generic deep cycle car batteries on clearance for 59.99 now so if you don't want to drain your car battery i suppose you could run it off that in the boot.

combined with a battery charger when you get to mains, charge it up at campsites

    • Which Aldi has them for $59.99?

      • a couple that i've been to in SA, there were plenty left in each store. i don't think they sold very well.

        • Can you just charge the batteries continuously like a lithium?

    • How many amp hours is the $59.99 battery ?

        • Thanks.
          38ah is decent, for $60 .
The 105ah ones would be good. But 38ah not so heavy, so would be ideal for me due to back injury.
Will try to check local aldi today (get them to call round other stores for stock).
In illawarra, it seems the newest stores get old stock from all the others to clear. Might be the same for people in other locations.

          • +2

@Flanders: Don't forget that you should never run these batteries below 50% so when you are looking at ah you really need to half the rated amount.

  • +1

    Jesus that's insane!

I almost wanna buy a 2nd to go with my Waeco CF40

    • Would be a good combo. One as a freezer. One as fridge.

  • Cheers OP. Good find.
Do the Waeco covers fit these?

    • Never mind. It comes with the padded bag.

  • Thanks, OP! Bought one :)

  • Thanks OP. Just received the Big W Frenzy email and saw this too. Couldn’t choose delivery for my postcode in Sydney so had to choose pick up. Oh well, least I managed to grab one.

  • Had it in my cart and then made the mistake of stuffing around trying to connect my rewards card to my Big W account, kept failing for no reason, and now there's no stock in any of my locals.

    • same happened to me but I managed to quickly switch to another store which had the stock

    • Did you copy paste your number by chance ?

Was having same issue until i manually typed card number and password.

      • Yeah c+p. I didn't try typing it. Bugger.

  • Decided to buy a second one but looks like all gone in VIC…

    • Decided to buy a first, but likewise all gone in VIC and none available for delivery :(

        • +1

Not everybody wins. For example, me.

        • +1

          @b0rat
Assuming you mean Vic that would have been Geelong or South Yarra? If you decide to return and meant aforementioned stores then i would buy from you.

        • -3

oops my bad i was gloating a bit (i knew the negs would come)

that feeling when you know you got the last one (twice) is always a good feeling.

          nope, SA

i might keep both because 80L at 500 is still cheap. one for drinks other for freezer.

      • Werribee 3030 has stock, just ordered myself one

  • No longer available for delivery…. stocks are low.
Glad I got in, thanks OP.

  • Looks like nearly ozbargained folks. Get in quick

  • +1

This deal is almost as good a deal as toilet paper gate when i managed to stock up on about 2 years toilet paper for super cheap. Happy Days.

    • That was the greatest day ever! Only ran out a couple months back!
Bought this too…hopefully half as good a deal 😊

  • A lot of cars wiring won't be strong enough to run a fridge. Be interesting to see how many get returned by people saying it doesn't work right.

  • +1

    That was quick. All gone.

  • +1

    Awesome deal thanks OP!
They're still available for pick up at my local and a few other stores so not all gone

  • What are the external dimensions?

  • +2

"Unfortunately there are no BIG W Stores with stock of this item within 2000 kms of your location."

    • So what? Apparently the purchase is only available online, but I cannot select the online store(yes, I know).

They should have had more stock. Bait advertising perhaps?
