Is it really 200Hz, or just marketing advertising it as 200Hz?
I more concerned about the curve.
I feel its one of those purchases you will regret in a couple of years.
Don't worry about the curve, you won't notice unless you are far far away from it.
I feel its one of those purchases you will regret in a couple of years
like buying a iPhone 6S today and 4 years regretting the purchase because the iPhone X is newer technology ??
The curve is one of those ideas which seem great when you're full of alcohol (can't wall mount and you need to be in the sweet spot to enjoy it.
Curved TV's mount to the wall the exact same way as a flat screen, no issue.
What would be the most important would be a solid 24hz mode.
Ripper deal especially on the 55". Thanks EC.
Not a real discount for the 65".
Payed exactly the same price four months ago.
pay is an irregular verb.
Word.
Just a warning these tvs have have really poor viewing angles where the picture loses lots of detail.
No idea where you got that from… I have both a flat 60" and a curved 55" (same as the one offered here) and there's little to no difference in viewing angle unless you're sitting almost perpendicular to the TV which wouldn't make sense anyway.
I'd expect a substantial discount because it is bent.
Why are bent screens are still a thing?
I see a curved screen and think WTF.
They do have an advantage if you live in a room about 3ft deep and want a 65inch TV.
If I bought 8 and put them in a circle I think I could be one with everything!?
I think that's Ghandi's job - inbetween ordering pizzas.
According to http://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/curved-vs-flat-tvs-compared the 55" fills up only 28.42° of your field of view, when you sit 8 feet / 2.43m from it. 8 of them would do 227.36° or maybe 240° with the bezels.
If you wanted a 360° circle, you would need a 12 of them, if you assume that with the bezel, they each fill up around 30°.
Good guys price match guarantee was a pain for me to get recently had to ring the store I purchased from and they eventually sorted it out
Samsung UA65JU7500W good tv, got one from JB hifi for the same price over xmas.
great for gaming with extreme low input lag.
Does this TV have a Plex ap available? Finding mixed things online and I won't buy a TV that doesn't support it. Hoping an owner of the TV knows.
Yep has the actual Plex app, not a knock off. Runs very well on this TV.
FYI, I just got a text warning on the tv that they are removing SKYPE after JUNE.
Thanks! After confirming this I went into the store and bought it! Not fussed about Skype/any other aps really.
What problem is the curvature supposed to solve?
First World Problem? :)
I don't grok curved screens either.
I mean, it kinda makes sense for a computer monitor, since you sit so close to it. But TVs? Mmmm.
Coriolis effect…by the time the photons get to your eyes they match the curvature of the Earth. ;)
CRTs actually were calibrated differently for the N & S hemispheres.
Electrons don't move as fast as photons :)
Picked this up in Jan at the same pricing. Read many reviews and found this site to be the best at reviewing TV's including alternatives and suggested setups http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ju7500
I actually picked the curved screen because of the viewing angle. The only down side to the curve is that it doesn't sit flush on a wall. At wide angles you actually get a better view of the panel then a flat one. I tested this side by side at a distance of 2metres & 4metres when in stores (Versus the JU7000)
This is definitely the pick of the bunch in the Mid priced 65".
It also comes with their new version of the Smart remote which is the best i have used.
This is now expired
That's actually really cheap. Consider its 200Hz as well
