I chucked four drives in my cart and its just a smidge over AUD$30 for delivery to Perth, which is awesome.
Only downside is you can't order more than four at once.
You will end up paying for import tax since its value is over 1000aud.
on the fly.
Rock on, JV!

how can I do it in this way? please pm the instructions - teach me how to do it! I am not bad at scripting but need specs that I can follow and replicate.
@Spackbace: there is always a next time!
What's best /TB (w/o del) mean?
Best price on staticice per terabyte without delivery cost included.
Best rapper ever

Very good price. I got these back in October for $308 each during the AMEX/Amazon promotion. I only got 2 and I have been regretting not getting 2 more. Now the opportunity has come. Thanks OP.
Is the hard disk from wd international ? Or it'll have to go back to Amazon if it ever stuff up?
The last WD Drive I got via Amazon that broke (a 4tb Red drive), I had to send back to WD in Singapore (or somewhere around there). Postage sucked, it was around $50.
Still, they replaced the drive and all is well in the world.
Was waiting for this for a long time. Got 1, cheers OP!
Does red go faster?
No. Just means they're optimised for NAS operation.
So perfect for connecting to a nbn modem as cloud storage?
Yea that's fine.
you might need an enclosure
Nah they are rated for 24/7 operation though
I just bought 3 of the 4TB version <_>
The Hitachi deskstar NAS are still on sale from newegg. IMO once you compare WD vs Hitachi, the WD doesn't seem that good a bargain.
Nope if you are talking about this one, they are now $394
Thanks for the heads up. I thought they were still on special. Since I even got a friend to buy some a few days ago.
Why kind of drive do you install the NAS operating system on though, I assume you don't install it on this one also.
Mine installs on it's primary disk…
FYI to all here
I've recently discovered "white label" drives on Amazon, apparently re-badged WD Reds at a significantly cheaper price. Anyone here got experience with them? (Seems they don't ship to Australia through normal Amazon so you'd need a forwarder or US buddy) however the price difference is significant - the 6TB was as low as $144 US shipped (IIRC) in the past few months on a special. If you're buying 8 of them… even with fees and forwarder I imagine that would be no more than $1400 US to your door.
Amazon increased the price by USD2.75, looks like deals over?
It's still a good deal even if its $2.75 more.
Great price, thanks OP!
BTW, in case someone is interested in the other WD Red NAS (Amazon conversion rate 0.72568075):
