Google Nexus Player Refurbished $89 Delivered @ ASUS Notebooks

FREEFREIGHT

ASUS Notebooks have refurbished Nexus Player's for $89. Great for installing Kodi on.

I'd been looking for one and couldn't find anything cheaper at the moment than $129 at JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman, then saw this deal that was published late last year and had since expired - anyway it seems to be active again and has free express shipping if you live in a metro area if you use the coupon code.

  • Heads up, this seller didn't get a good rap last time https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/226180

    • The only bad rap was regarding some delivery issues, address mix up and slight delays around Xmas.
Not sure I wouldn't take it as a major point against the seller.

      • still alarm bells if you ask me, refurb and from a seller with previous issue's shipping or not … no thanks.

Fair enough! i know it's just a one time experience but I've had no issues - last deal was very close to Christmas could account for some problems.

  • I've bought two from them at different times. No issues knock on plywood

  • Just be careful with your payment information. Their site was hacked in the middle of last year.

  • ASUS have refurbished Nexus Player's for $89

I'd suggest you change this to ASUS Notebooks, because AFAIK, ASUS themselves have nothing to do with this company.

You should be putting the seller's name in the title too.

I ordered from their last deal

The 'express' shipping was slow, they shipped it carelessly - sent it to the wrong address (billing instead of delivery) and spelt my surname wrong, which made it very hard to get from the post office where it ended up. Their customer service was really rude about it, I had to call them several times before they gave out tracking information, and it was only when I got the tracking info it was obvious they posted it to the wrong place.

The unit has had some problems with the remote since (pretty common for the Nexus Player it seems from the internet) and I had to reset it fairly often. The cost of return postage plus the fact they are useless has not made it worth it to try and return, although common advice seems to be exchange the unit as some remotes are just dodgy.

If I'd researched more to know the remote was so commonly problematic, I would not have bought refurb, and would have purchased from a bricks and mortar so I could return if I got a unit with problems. I want to set up a system at my mum's place that she could use easily, and I ended up driving over to fix the remote way too often. I've got it attached to a bluetooth keyboard she likes now. But overall not a great experience.

  • bought one will let you know of experience

  • this better the than $45 mxq box, pre loaded with kodi from ebay?

    • If you just after Kodi and not all the other features suggest a PI2 or Pi3, works using the actual TV remote via HDMI cable. Just use Openelec image.
But you miss out on all the casting and so.

$96 for a new one from Dick Smith. http://www.dicksmith.com.au/networking-wireless/nexus-player… I would prefer to pay the extra over a referb.

    • It was 103 2 days back, and its only click and collect. i couldnt find a single store in any big city with stock. Its as good as non existent.

    • If you can find a single store with stock at the price good luck to you.
