InFocus M560 5.2" Android Phone 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, Band 28 $115.85 USD (~$155 AUD) Shipped @ TinyDeal

60

Ok, so it's no flagship phone with its 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM…But wow, for the price, you get:

  1. A high quality product (according to TinyDeals, it's made by the same iPhone manufacturer, so I assume FoxConn)
  2. BAND 28, 700MHz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Supports 128GB micro SD

Looks like these Chinese smartphone manufacturers are getting onto the Band 28 bandwagon…So expect a flood of new Chinese smartphones with Band 28 soon…

+1 for first Chinese device with Band 28.

  • Oppo has band 28

    • Since you can walk into DSE and buy an Oppo off the shelf, or order one from Optus, it's hardly a Chinese brand anymore.

      • If you could walk into a bar and chat to a Chinese chick, she is still a Chinese chick.

        • You've gotta draw the line somewhere.. otherwise pretty much every phone would be a "Chinese Phone".

If that chick in the bar talks to you with an Australian accent I'd say she was Australian…
Even if not but she lives in Australia (on a shelf in DSE) and her parents lived in Australia (Oppo Australia), I'd also call her Australian.

In the case of ZTE and Huawei, I'd say it depends on the model.. If it's sold locally, it's Australian, but if it's designed for the Chinese market like a ZTE Nubia, then I'd say it was Chinese.
Xiaomi, I'd still call Chinese, although they must be close to making the jump.
Elephone, Ulefone, Lenovo, Meizu, Doogee etc are still very much Chinese phones.

There's mixed messages about the band support for this device and Chinese Warehouse sites aren't the most reliable sources of information.
It could well support Band 28, but I wouldn't jump on this deal unless you can afford to live without band 28 (to be honest, I think most can, cause coverage in metro areas is decent on the other more common bands.)

For example, Vickmall doesn't list band 28.
    http://www.vickmall.com/infocus-m560-4g-smartphone-android-5…
    nor is it listed here

  • InFocus? I thought they only did projectors….

If updates are not important to you this is a freaking bargain. 2GB of memory, micro SD card, ships with Android 5.1, 1080p screen, and it looks like a fairly stock android experience too.

The only thing that makes me pause is the 2400mah battery, which may or may not be enough for this mediatek chip which I have no knowledge about other than it's not a high end chip but it's no slouch either. It does support Quick Charge 2.0 (which I thought was a Qualcomm thing) so that might help make up for it.

For a back up phone or for a family member who doesn't give a crap it might be a very good phone, 5.2 inches 1080p screen is really really nice. It's an LCD screen but doesn't actually say if it's IPS though.

All in all this seems to be a great phone for the price!!

  • Does anyone know about the batteries (or other parts) exploding in these cheaper chinese phones? I remember I used to see articles about that happening a few years back now but they seem to be more mainstream now, so has something changed since those times (ie. QAQC possibly)?

  • Anyone own one already?

Also are they full of alot of Chinese apps you cant remove?

  • Device review of lower model 330. But i guess the build would be roughly the same-ish.

    Nothing found for 560.

NOTE: Once again, this is review for m330, NOT m560 in listing here http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/reviews/infocus-m330-review-…

  • don't buy <insert any cheap Chinese phone here> without some solid reviews
    then wait another 3-6 months
    read some more reviews
then decide if its worth buying
    that's my 2c

  • This model is not listed at all on infocusphones.com

However, under the Taiwan regional section, there's a model called m808 that looks exactly the same as the m560 pictured here. M808 does indeed support LTE band 28, as this is widely used LTE band in Taiwan. http://www.infocusphone.com/tw/product/M808/param.html

I have a feeling that m560 is the China (mainland) variant of the m808. I highly doubt a mainland model would support LTE 28 as this band is not used there.
