Or for around the same price you can get a Xiaomi Ants Camera, with a night vision camera, movement alerts, two way audio, etc on your phone/tablet. When you're having a crap day at work, just tune in at nap time to see your little angel and realise this why you're going to be stuck there for at least the next 20 years (unless the wifi gets them first).

Seems like a decent deal, but would definitely recommend a video monitor instead - much easier/less stressful to be able to see what is going on rather than having to go in and investigate every noise.

some customers dont need a video monitor and the austrlian approved ones are a bit more dearer than what we are offering.

For the price as a audio monitor, its pretty good and its an australian model and warranty monitor

    • Other advantages to this are that you don't need to use your smartphone like the Xiaomi, or have to setup a wifi network. Great for when you staying at friends places.

As I said, seems like a decent deal.

Just wanted to offer some advice to prospective parents (who are the likely purchasers) that they might want to think about spending some more and getting a video monitor - I certainly wish we did initially.

      • Yeah a mate gave us his audio monitor (because he never used it) & to be honest it wasn't that great. You hear a sqwak & then you go to their room & if they we actually just dreaming you often accidentally wake them up. We gave up using it after 2 weeks.

With video you can see if they're awake. Seriously they're so much better. Especially handy if your over at your neighbours house or even watching TV it takes all of 5-30sec to see if they're ok. The motion detection works a treat.

  • Does "No Battery Direct Plug In for Parent Units" mean it has to be plugged in to the PowerPoint all the time?

Don't worry, worked it out. They plug straight into PowerPoint and aren't portable.
