CTECHIE

Maybe a limited audience for this one, but I was hunting a new slow cooker and ended up deciding I needed a pressure cooker. Good price for what I can find.

Good reviews here (aside from an explosion or three)

    • +3

It actually has high, medium, and low settings jv

  • This one or the Target one?

    • Target one.

    • +2

I've had this one for a few years. It gets used at least 1-2 times a week, every week.

    • +1

Do you have a link to the Target one? This model looks to have quite a few good reviews on it, including from Choice.

    • +2

I went through the same discussion a few months ago when the target one was on sale at Harvey Norman. I'm loyal to breville but ended up getting the target one cause of a few reviews I read. The target one is awesome. I'm sure this one is good as well.

    • Been happy so far with the Bellini. Good pressure cooker. Now our daily rice cooker! No need to buy a separate rice cooker, this Bellini does the job well. You may have to reduce the water because rice gets soggy, but it could be tge rice as well.

      • Is the Bellini pressure cooker only?

        • Also functions as a rice cooker - it's in the manual

        • @downero:

          Thanks.

The Philips can do pressure and slow cook seems better value of money.

This one comes equal first with the Sunbeam Aviva on Choice reviews.

  • I have this, use it all the time. Great price

  • I've had this one for a few years now, easy to use and even easier to clean. I love it.

  • I end up buying the pro version.

    • +1

      Yeah,I momentarily considered it too.
However I started off looking for ~$50 slow cookers, which then progressed to $150 pressure cookers. I had to draw a line somewhere lol

    • Do you know what advantage/extra features the pro version has over the BR200?

      • +1

Yes, it has the Pro name to it. It sound better and I am willing to paid double for it :)

  • I have one of these. Good device. Recommended.

  • There was a recall last year, anyone recently purchased through this deal and can confirm its not defected? I was so close to buying one entered in the code but wanted to see the specs, sigh.

They say it's just a faulty lid gasket to prevent leakage.

    More information as below.

    https://www.breville.com.au/recall

    • I can't comment about the unit that's on sale, but I did purchase one with the fauly gasket about 10 months ago and I can confirm that the replacement gasket fixed the leakage.

    • Yep fixed mine too :)

From memory they sent out a replacement within a week.

    • Picked it up today. Has a sticker on the top of box saying new top seal fitted or something. So obviously not an issue now

I can vouch for this as well. This gets used every day at my house. Pretty much an essential appliance when you're vegan and there's a lot of beans that need cooking.

    • +4

How do you know when someone's vegan?

      • ^ underrated comment ^

But yeah have this appliance, use pressure feature mostly and done probably 80 meals so far no issue..

  • I have this also, great product and a good price :)

    This guy said:

"Thank goodness I was cooking bone broth outside. After 30 minutes, I heard uncharacteristic hissing followed by a massive pop. The scalding liquid clearly exploded out about 10 meters away from the machine, Had the machine been inside the explosion could have caused serious injury, not to mention a huge clean up job :("

    • That's the review that made me buy the phillips

  • I mentioned that in the deal post.
It is what it is. Want risk free cooking?… Do a hangi :)
