Faux science, mumbo jumbo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP1XGmr26Mo

    • -6

That video is complete and utter BS - check the comments on the video.

ABC ended up getting sued bigtime for that segment:
      http://www.smh.com.au/business/media-and-marketing/milk-comp…

I believe there was a large payout. A2 later released a report saying that a successful settlement was reached.

      • +5

Being sued and reaching a settlement (have you found any evidence of a conclusion on the internet, yet?) provide no evidence your 'utter BS' claim.

Wow, a new comment on Youtube just minutes ago!
The pithy comment in https://www.nzx.com/files/attachments/229882.pdf provides no evidence of the A2 Milk Company winning the case.

        • -1

Seems its been a good year for them selling false beliefs. Now they're exporting false beliefs to China.

Always good to see part of the dairy industry getting an increasing return on their waste product of bull/cow-shit.

I believe there was a large payout. A2 later released a report saying that a successful settlement was reached.

Strange that the Checkout video that is the basis of the complaint is still online, with no retraction. That would be the first requirement of any successful settlement!

Why would A2 claim a successful outcome if effectively nothing had changed??

Anyone can sue to protect their interests & proves nothing. Being successful is a harder task.

My quick search found nothing but the claim A2 was threatening to sue. To maintain their market they would have to at least threaten to attack the Checkout. That way the believers will believe the video was just "udder BS".

Link to that settlement & large payout please, otherwise your claim is just Buttercup's day old cow pat.

      • +7

A large settlement that didn't include a take down from official youtube and ABC sites? Calling BS :)

        • EDIT- Infidel beat me to it :)

        • @zappa:
It is a good point - worth repeating ;-)

        • @Infidel: haha - great minds and all that !

        • @zappa:
I'll sue you for that remark ;-)
That's the way to stop information you don't want getting into the market.

Mysteriously settled out of court and no mention of money transferred, only baseless allusions. Also YouTube video is still up. Sounds like someone realised their overpriced placebo milk is actually just a placebo.

  • norm $10-$11, they will never sell any at that price. A2 humpf.

    • Probably why it'll only sell when it's "on sale". At the current rates, it would be on par in terms of pricing with say Blue Ribbon from Streets. Thought it might be OK to try something new for the same price.

      • yep, $4 it will be OK as its the same price as streets bulla peters, and thats what it should be too.

BTW I just bought a tub of Breakfast Ice cream from Woolies last night.
Maple Bacon ice cream - yum

  • This price is in store also?

    • By my understanding, yes.

  • +2

If you really want it just for the "A2" then $5 or $10 might be okay, but it's definitely not a premium ice cream taste you'll be getting with these.

    • +1

Yeah, if you are after the premium ice cream taste, might have to wait for the likes of Connoisseur to go on sale (which happens fairly frequently and periodically with Woolies/Coles/IGA). This week at Coles - $7.00 for 1litre

    • +1

Thanks - that comment just saved me $4.99.
Thought it must taste better to justify the price. Seems they're charging a premium price just for the belief some may feel less bloated etc.

  • froget A2 icecream deal, had we all invested in these infant formula milk companies 12 months ago, we wouldnt be on ozbargain

    • Some of us did :)

Although even if I made $10 million I'd still be on Ozbargain every day haha

  • Coles already has the chocolate on clearance.

The vanilla is quite nice. For $5. $10 haha. It tastes like the peters natural (WA version before the factory was closed down)

  • Well if someone made vanilla choc-chip icecream like cadbury once did I'd pay $17 a tub for it coz it's such a pain to try to mix melted chocolate thru icecream.

Half lime jelly & half vanilla choc-chip icecream mashed up in a cup is heaven to my taste buds …

  • One of the best tasting ice creams I've had

    • Which flavour?

I've never tried this but I'm leaning towards the raspberry one

      • -2

Raspberry Ripple is the BEST icecream i have ever had. I happily pay $10 for it when its not on sale as well.

A2 as a matter of fact does work. My wofe could not drink milk and was told she was lactose intolerant. Well she isnt. It was an upset stomach from normal dairy. A2 DOESN'T affect her. It's definitely not a placebo affect.

Recommend people read up on how dangerous the A1 beta casein protein is. Linked to a whole range of preventable diseases especially in young children.

        http://www.katie180.com.au/nutrition/i-drink-a2-milk-heres-w…

Some great information. Well worth the read

        • a1 vs a2 is a moot point if you're going to eat this much cream and sugar. saturated fat and sugar definitely cause a whole range of preventable diseases especially in young children.

a2 Ice Cream™ raspberry ripple Ingredients:
Reconstituted a2 Milk™ [Skim (52%)], Cream [From a2 Milk™ (27%)], Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Sugar, Maltodextrin, Vegetable Origin Emulsifier [471 (Soy)], Vegetable Gums (412, 410, 407a), Natural Flavour, Natural Colour (160a).

407a used in yoghurts, icecreams and others has been linked to cancer and is not recommended in large quantities for young children. there are more chemicals in this than actual raspberries (the "natural" flavour might not even come from raspberries)

        • @devilbabies: mixed response.
one about the damn ice cream. One about the absurd comments above.

Agreed. Sugar is the worst. A damn poison….lol one i must admit i love

Care to explain why 407a is bad? Its a thickener made from seaweed…
          http://fedup.com.au/information/information/complete-lists-o…

Not one i would avoid nor is it listed as such either.

        • @BKZ: 407a is carrageenan. just do a search for "carrageenan cancer".

it supposedly can cause heaps of other problems too:

Although derived from a natural source, carrageenan appears to be particularly destructive to the digestive system, triggering an immune response similar to that your body has when invaded by pathogens like Salmonella. The result: "Carrageenan predictably causes inflammation, which can lead to ulcerations and bleeding,"

Her previous work showed a concerning connection between carrageenan and gastrointestinal cancer in lab animals, and she's involved with ongoing research funded through the National Institutes of Health that is investigating carrageenan's effect on ulcerative colitis and other diseases like diabetes.

          http://www.prevention.com/food/healthy-eating-tips/carrageen…

it is BANNED in the EU in infant formula.

(i don't really care or believe this. it isn't going to stop me eating icecream. i'm just using it as example of how you can find studies showing that pretty much anything is bad: sugar, saturated fat, carrageenan and a1 milk

however, sugar and cream are almost certainly going to harm your kids more than a1 milk will)

        • from: http://www.katie180.com.au/nutrition/i-drink-a2-milk-heres-w…

Once digested, the A1 variant of beta casein releases a peptide called beta casomorphin 7 (BCM7). BCM7 affects opioid receptors. A2 beta casein does not librate BCM7.

you actually want the casomorphins. they are part of what makes milk (and cheese, icecream, etc) so satisfying and addictive (it makes baby cows happy and relaxed.. a1 cows are more common because farmers bred their happy cows and got rid of the angry a2 cows who were aggressive and bitter because the a2 milk they got from their cow mommies was so unsatisfying .. true story)

Must chime in here… The most bland tasting vanilla ice cream I've ever had.
Even on sale for $5 I'd rather pay the extra and get Cadbury, Bulla or blue ribbon.
