Note I have had nothing but problems with LG g4s, over heating badly and wifi not working at all. I wouldnt get this phone. high chance its faulty I had two Lg g4s both faulty.

When did you get your phones? I heard that early G4s had issues, but later ones (post Sept Oct) are fine. Am I being misled?

      • How do you know if they will send you latest ones anyway? they could send you old ones made when they first came out. and I cant remember but I didnt buy my lg g4s on first day it came out maybe a month or two. my second Lg g4 was not overheating till I updated it then it overheated like my first one 5 times a week or more. and it was bad like the screen felt hot and back of the phone felt hot, on the top bottom was fine.

        • battery life was damn awesome till it kept over heating both lg g4s had over heating problems, also first one i had had wifi problems second was ok on wifi but a bit lag

          never going to LG again.

Why neg someone who shared his/her experience with the product in question?????

    • Perhaps you should watch the Linus video where he runs benchmarks on the G4 and finds temps and performance do not change compared to other phones which heat up and fall in performance over the duration of the test.

      • What does this have to do with someone's personal experience with a G4? Linus isn't a god FYI.

        • well for one thing it's another personal experience, one that would be longer and more in depth than a comment. And with a phone that doesn't sound as faulty as this guys ones..

        • @skelty:

You're trying to debunk their comment because Linus did a review on the phone and it was positive.

        • @tranqme: i haven't looked at the review so there.. debunk that :P

    • That is not normal at all. I suggest you do a factory reset, or if that doesn't work, wipe it back to a andorid 5.1 rom (V10F would be the best). LG is indeed a let down interms of the early bootloop problem and android unstable updates. I used to recommend this to a lot of friends in the first 3 months I purchased it, but not anymore after I upgraded to Android 6.0, which was a total disaster and some of the problems still not fixed after 4 releases.

Just because someone is unfortunate to get two faulty phones doesn't mean that there's a high probability of getting a faulty one. Need a much larger sample size than that to determine if that's the case. Overheating issues is more of a problem on s810 powered devices than s808 ones.

  • I bought a G4 3 weeks ago and i have no issues with the phone, but battery is bit of a let down, hardly last a full day.

    • New software update supposed to fix that…..but I haven't seen it make any difference yet.

  • Cheaper through this eBay group deal:

The poster noted you can get red or brown leather from Kogan for $10 more, I think that was the purpose.

      • +1

True. How much are the replacement leather backs? This deal is $532 delivered.

Loving my G4 still after 6 months. Great phone.

How's your back cover (if you got the leather variant)?

      • +2

        Still looks new to me.

      • +2

I secind to that, it is an awesome phone, my wife's using ot from last 6 Months or so, it hasn't miss a beat. Updated to Android Marshmallow 6.0 2 months ago, whereas my Samsung Note 5, which comes out after G4, still on 5.1

        Also back still looks new.

        • It's the best phone I've owned and haven't experienced an issue. There's been some issues such as the infamous bootloop one that quite a few unfortunately have experienced.

        • Looks like G4 gets update every month. I believe security patch….

        • @udyz: thats correct, it does. Whereas my Samsung Note 5 didnt receive any security update after Oct 2015

I got my brown leather G4 last October for ~430$ from QD ebay. I was expecting the price to be much lower than this.

    • 430 after 20% off ebay site wide? The phone itself had never been cheaper than 550 till the g5 was announced last week

      • Yes it has. I found the deal from Ozbargainers as well

  • Bought one last year and now the rear camera started jumping up and down randomly. Seems to be the part when the image stabilization is having issue.

  • +2

I am very happy with mine but I have noticed it does heat up quite a bit when either running some games or constantly searching for signal.

    • Matr it cant bebad as Note 5, I can bet on this.

After having issues with the lg g4 not charging (bought one from the 20% ebay discount), the second replacement lg g4 works fine. Unfortunately stock 3000mah battery did not last me a whole day, so I went on ebay and bought a bigger MPJ battery 6000mah for about $31 delivered and now couldn't be happier. The battery lasts at least a whole day with 6 hours of on screen time. The back case is horrible but it's a compromise. Previously had a zerolemon battery for my note 3 with 10000mAh and that lasts 3 days at least. But it was too expensive to get delivered for the lg g4 (about $135) so got the MPJ instead, highly recommend it. Very good affordable phone after marshmallow update. Hope that helps. Cheers

    • this one? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MPJ-6000mAh-High-capacity-extende…

Can you charge it normally via USB or do you have to use the included charger?

      • +2

Yes, it's that one. Remember to use an official charger via USB when charging the phone (currently using a quick charger from Samsung). Avoid cheap flimsy Chinese knock off at all cost, I made that mistake and will never charge my $400+ phones with a $2 charger. Not worth the risks. LG G4 is an amazing phone. You will enjoy it lots more with the bigger battery. Cheers
